Jeff’s been part of our walking crew since 2021 and it’s fair to say he brings his own unique flavour every single time. A Shar Pei x Bully mix, he’s got that classic combo: Wrinkly, thoughtful Shar Pei vibes paired with the solid big hearted energy of a Bully. A proper LAD.

We’ve seen him through the lot, his awkward teenage phases, working around back and hip pain and figuring out those right pack setups and walkers to keep him comfortable and thriving. It’s been a journey and he’s handled it in his own little Jeff way.

But lately Something’s shifted.

There’s a little pip in his step, he’s way more focused and we’ve even seen flashes of prey drive which we’ve never seen before! He’s more dialled in, more present and clearly feeling good. And it shows.

Today Puck took him out for a roam together and honestly, we’ve never seen Jeff look so genuinely stoked to be out. Ears up, moving with purpose, soaking it all in.

Don’t get us wrong this lad can still keep you on your toes (especially at pick up when he decides he’s absolutely not leaving today). But right now he’s buzzing. And we’re here for every second of it.

Big love to you Jeffolo. Proof that patience, understanding and the right pace can bring out the very best.

Higgs, my man!

Wishing you all the very best in your new adventures down south. It’s safe to say you’re going to be a massive miss amongst the JF&H crew.

Walking a deaf dog in a pack full of dogs that can hear is one thing, but having the best recall out of all of them using nothing but visual cues… that’s something else! It says everything about your patience, your skill and the way you connect with the people in the world around you.

You’ve taught me a lot, not just about dogs, but about adaptability. How to communicate differently, adjust your approach and still get the absolute best out of any situation. That mindset sticks and it’s something I’ll carry forward.

Wherever you go next, they’re lucky to have you. We’re gonna miss you big lad.

Massive shoutout to Coco this week

We’re now 8 weeks into her journey with JF&H and the progress she’s made, especially over the last couple of weeks has been awesome to see.

After recently moving into the area, Coco had a lot to take in. A brand new home, new walking routes and a whole new crew of pals was no small change. She came to us feeling quite unsure, showing some anxious and nervous behaviours as she settled in.

But with consistent routines, plenty of patience and gentle encouragement from her best pal Matt, Coco has really started to find her feet. Her confidence is growing with every walk and she’s beginning to relax into her surroundings and enjoy being part of the pack.

It’s been a super lush to support her along the way.

Here’s to you, Coco you little ledge!

Our elite greyhound gang hit the paddocks on a Monday to get a big leg stretch and some social time off leash.

Dog walks aren’t always about burning physical energy, it’s about working those clever minds too.

Monday’s adventure was a quad stroll packed with scent work, exploring and a little natural scavenging. The perfect mix to tire out both body and brain!

Thank you for every single memory. Thank you for being so unapologetically Labrador. For four and a half years, you filled our walks with pure joy! Through all weathers, it never mattered. You showed up the same way every time.

Your happiness was pure and effortless. One of my very favourite things about you was that smile! So wide and so full of life.

You didn’t deserve the hand you were dealt. None of it was fair. And I am so deeply sorry you were taken from us far too soon. There was so much more love left to give you.

Fly high, kiddo. You will always be part of us.

Another tough one for Team JF&H as we say goodbye to our pal Tom.

Tom’s been rolling with us since 2023. He’s our resident nomad, living full time in his van and fully embracing the adventure lifestyle. He’s been the go-to guy for homestays, holding down the fort when owners are away and he’s built some proper bonds with the dogs along the way. Always first to say yes to a big Northumberland adventure walk, an absolute all rounder and a huge part of the JF&H community. He’s going to be a massive miss.

Tom operates mostly in stealth mode quiet graft, low profile, no fuss, just getting stuck in and loving the outdoors in all weathers. He recently mentioned this is the longest job he’s ever held down and honestly, that speaks volumes. This gig isn’t always easy with the mileage, the mud, and the mix of personalities in the pack so knowing it’s something our team genuinely value means a lot.

It’s also a heavy loss for Greggs’ vegan range… Manchee is going to feel the absence of those rogue dashboard vegan sausage rolls on collection runs.

Hats off to you on your next adventure, mate. Wishing you all the best as you head off to explore Southeast Asia. Thanks for rolling with us
