Grass seeds are small but can cause big problems for our furry friends.

These tiny, barbed darts are designed to travel in one direction, meaning they can easily work their way into the skin, ears, nose, paws, or even further—often leading to painful infections.

Here are some simple ways to protect your pet:
🐾 Check paws carefully – Inspect between toes and around pads after every walk

🐾 Look at ears – Grass seeds can easily get trapped inside; consider a dog snood for extra protection

🐾 Brush their coat – Especially under the belly and around the legs where seeds cling most

🐾 Avoid long grass – Stick to well-maintained paths where possible

💡 If you notice limping, swelling, excessive licking, or head shaking, get in touch promptly!

Just a polite reminder to please try and book at least 2 appointments in advance (or 3+ if you have more than 1 dog!). I am currently 90% full for June, July AND August, so if you have not pre-booked I may not be able to squeeze you in.
Block booking is available up til the end of September, just pop me a text or an email to arrange!

I will also be closed between 29th June - 5th July so please be aware availability is very limited around these dates.

Little Angelo is feeling fresh and ready for the weekend after his deshed and scissor tidy!

With the temperature expected to hit 27 degrees this weekend, just a reminder that we are fully air conditioned in the salon! ❄️
Your dogs will be well looked after and kept cool, with fresh water available at all times.

Please ensure you are walking your dogs in the early morning or late evening, and before travelling to the salon it’s a good idea to run your air conditioning for a few minutes before putting them in the car.

Heat stroke can happen very quickly in dogs, and even more so in brachycephalic breeds such as French Bulldogs. The key symptoms to look out for are:
• Excessive, distressed panting
• Thick drool or foaming from the mouth
• Bright red or dark purple gums and tongue
• Dizziness, disorientation or collapsing
• Vomiting or diarrhea

If you suspect your dog is suffering from heat stroke you should:
• Move them to a cooler area
• Apply cool water over their body
• Place them in the breeze of a fan
• Offer small amounts of tepid water
• Contact your vet straight away

Heat stroke is life threatening in dogs. Make sure you’re prepared this summer and keep them safe! ❤️
