Animals in Distress - Torbay & Westcountry Animals in Distress is a local animal welfare charity that takes in, cares for and rehomes hundreds of cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs every year.

The Animal in Distress Rescue Centre is based at Ipplepen, near Newton Abbot, Devon. Animals come to the Rescue Centre for a variety of reasons, including bereavement, illness, breakdown of relationships, financial hardship, straying, cruelty, neglect or abandonment. When the lives of South Devon’s pets fall apart, Animals in Distress is here to pick up the pieces. We aim to never turn away an

animal in distress, and it is our policy to give them the best possible care while they are waiting to be rehomed. Every effort is made to ensure that prospective owners find the right pet for them. Home checks are carried out, and all animals are checked by our veterinary surgeon. All cats and dogs are microchipped, vaccinated and neutered before rehoming. Without the help of our generous supporters in the local community and beyond, we simply wouldn’t be able to provide this vital service. Thank you so much for your support.

Meet beautiful Willow, a 12-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who has already been keeping us entertained with her excellent meerkat impression! 🥰

Willow will be looking for her new home once she has had some dental treatment, so keep an eye out for more updates on this lovely little lady. 💕🏡

Beautiful Harriet loves to play and is always happiest when sniffing out treats😋 Harriet is a young bunny at just over a year old, so she has bundles of energy and would need a large secure garden to stretch her paws and binky to her hearts content🧡 Harriet does have Pasteurella, so she would need to have an owner who is familiar with it and she would need to be the only rabbit in the household. ABANDONED KITTENS UPDATE 🐱💕

Marshmallow, Coconut and Pebble — AKA The Grubby Face Gang thanks to the amount of face-washing they need after mealtimes! 😻 — are doing really well.

They’re all eating well, gaining weight and have settled happily into life in their foster home. 💕

We’ll keep you updated on their progress as they continue to grow and thrive.
