The Working Puppy Company Puppy training in Aberdeenshire for dogs of all breeds and ages! Puppy training takes time, patience, understanding, calmness and consistency.

All our training is outside, in the place where you need to teach them to behave most! We have all breeds of dog come to class. Although you may not want to work your dog or have a working breed, we aim to achieve the same end result – an obedient and well behaved puppy having covered sit, stay, recall and heel work. All dog training classes are held on a farm ‘Wester Fintray’ just outside Kintore which is beautiful setting. We have a range of private training ground available to us from the floodlit paddock which is a small fully enclosed area for younger dogs, to larger more open area for gundog work.

Ever wondered if your Cockapoo is the only one who thinks every bush deserves a full investigation? 🌿🐶

Or perhaps your Cocker has never met a scent they didn’t need to follow, your Labrador believes every person is their new best friend, or your Dachshund has very strong opinions about where the walk should go! 😂

We’re excited to be launching our new Breed Walks - fun, social and managed walks where you can meet other owners who truly understand the quirks, habits and personalities that come with your dog’s breed.

🐾 What can you expect?

🐕 A social and structured group walk
📆 Held at weekends
👀 The chance to meet other owners and dogs of the same breed
☕ A coffee and chat after the walk
🎓 Trainer Kirsten on hand to answer breed-specific questions
💡 Helpful training tips tailored to your dog and their individual needs
❤️ A relaxed, friendly environment to share experiences and enjoy time together

Whether you want to compare notes, swap stories or simply meet other people whose dogs have the same wonderfully unique habits, these walks are a great way to connect.

And don’t worry, the walks will be managed to help everyone enjoy the experience safely and calmly, with support available throughout.

We recognised early on the importance of training outdoors, where dogs experience the distractions they’ll encounter on everyday walks.

🐾 THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR LATEST BLOCK OF TRAINING! 🐾

Our current block of Group Obedience Classes and Train & Walk sessions comes to an end this week. A huge well done to all the humans and their dogs who have put in the work. 👏🐶

Our aim isn’t just to teach your dog a list of exercises. It’s about giving you the tools and understanding to continue training your dog long after the class has finished.
And remember… training is a marathon, not a sprint! 🏃‍♀️🐕

Progress takes time, consistency and plenty of practice. Some weeks feel like everything is coming together, and others… well, your dog may have other ideas! 😂
The important thing is to keep going, keep practising and keep building on what you’ve learnt.

If you’re wondering “what next?”, we have plenty of ways to continue your training journey:

🐾 THAT’S A WRAP FOR OUR TUESDAY GROUP! 🐾
What a way to finish our latest block of Tuesday obedience classes!

We packed plenty into the final session, including:
🐕 Double dog work – working alongside another dog
🐾 Close, doubled-up heelwork – keeping focus even with another dog right beside you
🧘‍♀️ Sit stays – building duration and control
🏃‍♂️ Four-dog running recall – a real test of focus, and they absolutely smashed it!

It’s been brilliant watching everyone progress throughout the block. The dogs have learnt plenty, but just as importantly, their humans have been given the tools to continue building on that training at home and out in the real world.

Remember, training is a marathon, not a sprint. Keep practising, having fun and keep building on those foundations! 🐾
