INDIBA, Laser, Shockwave Therapies
Technologies designed to support recovery, reduce pain & improve tissue healing. But what does the science say about these therapies-and when they are most useful?
INDIBA (Radiofrequency Therapy)
Radiofrequency energy to stimulate cellular activity & increase blood circulation within tissues. A gentle deep-heat effect that can promote metabolic activity & improve tissue oxygenation.
Often used for:
• Muscle soreness & stiffness
• Soft tissue recovery
• Supporting rehabilitation programmes

Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) uses acoustic pressure waves delivered to targeted tissues. These waves stimulate biological responses including improved blood flow & the activation of healing processes. Shockwave is widely used in equine veterinary medicine, particularly for:
• Suspensory ligament injuries
• Proximal suspensory desmitis
• Bone stress injuries
• Chronic tendon or ligament problems
Of the 3, shockwave therapy has some of the strongest clinical evidence supporting its use in equine orthopaedics.
Tools, Not Magic Solutions
These therapies can play a valuable role in rehabilitation, they’re not standalone cures. Effective recovery programmes still depend on:
• Accurate diagnosis
• Appropriate rest & controlled exercise
• Correct farriery & saddle fit
• Progressive conditioning
