Friday's furry fudds. Well, that was a nice wee change. Naebody booked in for the morning walk so I got a lie in for once 😁
So there was no warm-up before the lunchtime madness. Buddy was doing his best to wind everyone up, he'll never learn 🤣 Got a good laugh at Willow though. She's obviously used to being the only female dog in the group most of the time, so there was definite jealousy when Milly was getting attention, wee lamb. There was no badness in it though, they were running around and playing together fine. Did give me a chuckle, stroppy wee mare.
A nice wander about in the sunshine to finish the week off. Weren't getting anywhere particularly fast, what with Nala's love of rolling in the grass every 2 seconds and Kaya was feeling a bit slow today. Bless her 😢 Was all good though, plenty of love and of course biscuits, saw the job done. Anyway, that's me for the week folks and I'll no see youse next week, I'm aff. So until then 👋

Thursday's squad. A quiet start to the day, just me and Bella daundering about Backmuir. There were a few other dogs for her to say hi to, so that wad nice. And an astonishing amount of red squirrels for her to get excited about and try and chase up a tree 🙈 There was also a lot of mooching.
A red letter day with the Brute squad, Willow didn't want to play. At least not until Bear had wound her up enough by barking in her face. Then he got what he was looking for, a thorough pasting 🤣 He still found time to dig a big hole too. Tucker meanwhile was trying, unsuccessfully, to eat Greg's wrappers off the ground. Pudden.
Extreme Fetch to finish off the day and the missus decided to join us, as this may well be the last time we see Kaya on the field of dreams. Opie was too busy squeaking the squeaker from a toy he found in the grass to join in really, but the rest of them were giving it laldie 🤪 Despite Mac and Kaya's best efforts it was Lolly the sniper that was today's winner.

Wednesday's wanderers. Started the day off with a bit of off-road Shih Tzu racing. Well, they've only got wee legs so it wasn't really racing 😂 But they can move when they want to. Accompanied by Daisy, who always seems thrilled to be involved. And of course, thrilled to get biscuits.
Bit of the old capers at lunchtime. Milly was let loose and decided to use her new found freedom to chase the boys around. Also to try and roll in p**p and jump in every puddle going 🙈 She was im good company though. Jasper also likes to try and roll in p**p and Odin loves a puddle.
Schools are aff so my wee assistant joined in for the last walk of the day. There was an extended pit stop so he could collect conkers. Didn't realise how many he'd stuffed in his pockets til we were home 🤣 Kaya came too, she can't let the boy go to work without her, even if she is very tired today. A boy and his ginger shadow.

Tuesday's troops. Change of scene this morning, well, kinda. But of a wander about round Huntly woods in the early morning sun. The mooching was still going strong which is fine, allowed me to distract Bella from the field of sheep next to the woods. Couldn't distract her from the four idiot deer standing around in the open though 🙈 Daft creatures.
The usual tomfoolery at lunchtime with the Brute squad. Ruby was being a wee tinky again when she thought I wasn't looking, trying to roll in who knows what 🤢 The rest of them kept themselves busy in the Thunderdome, much to Odin's confusion. He doesn't get it, not sure i do either. They're having fun though, that's what counts.
Just Jasper for the last walk of the day, the rest of them are on holiday. It's alright though, he was living his best life, he had a ball to himself 😂 Nearly lost the ball when we met 3 Collies though, nae chance he was beating them to it. The power of bribery got it back though, the ball was jealously guarded from then on.

Monday's moochers. Quiet one the day but that's the school holidays for ya. Starting off the day with a wee wander about Backmuir, just the three of us. Murphy was full of the joys of life the day, boogeying his wee heart out. Probably cos he's away on holiday tomorrow and he'll come back a kilo heavier 😂 Kaya meanwhile was all about chasing sticks and of course, squirrels. She's doing just fine at the moment.
Bit lighter on dogs for Monday lunchtime but no lighter on nonsense. Still plenty of capers and shenanigans, in the piddling rain no less. Tucker and Cosmo did take a break from mucking about for a bit to indulge in some synchronised mooching 🙈 Never seen the like. Buddy's no much of a mooch but he'll no turn down a biscuit if it's going.
The rain was off for the last walk of the day, so that was nice. Bella and Nala still ended up soaking though thanks to their love of rolling in grass 🤣 Tinkies, the pair of 'em. Also got to see some synchronised mooching from Bella and Kaya, although it was far less dramatic. Kaya was either too full of biscuits or just tired, slowed down a lot for the last 10 minutes. Probably just tired, wee lamb.

Hi everyone, you might be wondering why I'm posting on a Sunday evening but I have some awful news to share. My wife and I have known this for a couple of weeks but we only told Ruari about it yesterday. We found out Kaya, the lovable wee face of Inverhowlie Rovers, has lymphoma. She's currently being treated with steroids at home, which are doing the job of keeping her healthy at the moment but her remaining time is probably measured in weeks. I'm not even sure what else to say it just seems so deeply unfair, she's only 6. So instead I'll let Ruari, the person Kaya loves more than anyone, tell you what he thinks about her.

Friday's footerers. Couple of faces we've no seen in a while joined the morning patrol today, Daisy and Buddy were back and on fine form. Daisy was competing with Bear to see who could mooch the most biscuits but poor wee Buddy just wanted to get moving 😂 There's a face that's been missing from the morning patrol for a while though. That's right, auld Barney. Well I'm afraid we've got to bid a fond farewell to Barney, he's just no managing the longer walks any more, so he's off to enjoy his retirement. Bye bye Barney, you'll be missed.
A full house for the lunchtime walk, full of bams at any rate. Willow was trying to herd deer towards me, Bailey was back in the puddle, Buddy was trying to wind up Sprout and poor Mac was dping his dinger trying to keep everyone in line 🤣 Odin was nae bother though.
Away round Templeton to finish off the week. Was nice and quiet until the squirrels were spotted. And then the deer 🙈 Avoided getting dragged into a ditch though, so it's all good. All that was left after that was trying to keep Nala out of the black mud. Largely successful on that front. Anyway, that's me for the week folks, enjoy your weekend!

Thursday's squad. Bit of a chilly start to the day, perfect Husky weather. Well, nearly. There was no snow after all. Got plenty of ground covered, in between stopping to say hi to other dogs. Had to keep Sprouto out the way though, he only likes other dogs if they're part of the squad 🙈
Tug of war with sticks was the order of the day for the Brute squad. Well, once we'd fished Bailey out of the big puddle anyway. Somewhat predictably, they were all knackered by the end. Apart from Willow of course 😂 Still going strong despite causing the rest of them to give up and stop for a lie down.
Extreme Fetch to finish off the day and Kaya was back on the squad. Couldn't get hold of that slippery wee bu**er Lolly to get the ball off her for a while, so was forced to deploy the spare ball for a while 🤣 Menace of a creature. Normal service resumed after that, in time for Mac to demonstrate how high he can jump. Show off that he is.

Wednesday's wanderers. All in a bit of a tangle to start the day off, but that's not anything unusual with the morning patrol. Starting to think a bit of steak tied to a stick might be just the ticket 😂 It works in the old cartoons, it's gotta be true, right? Meanwhile, Kaya was busy collecting sticks and carrying them around, cos that's what Labradors like to do.
Good old Bear joined the not so Young Team at lunchtime and had a grand old time. Mainly by rolling in the grass. Weirdo. Was a pretty chilled out one, just enjoying a bit of the sun, until Odin spotted someone and their dog with a ball-flinger about 300m away. Then of course he just had to rush over there and join in 🙈 Neither of them minded to be fair.
Still plenty of sunshine to go around for the last walk of the day. So it was a nice wee wander through the woods, just chilling. Well, me, Bella and Mac were. The rest of them spent most of their time in the burn 🤣 And if I'm being honest, Bella and Mac were mooching, not chilling. So really, it was just me chilling.

Tuesday's troops. A familiar face has returned to the morning patrol. That's right, Kaya's back. Still got a sore neck, hence the harness, but she managed fine. Not up for any nonsense though, so that meant Bailey had to handle that by himself. A task he was more than willing to undertake 🤣
A bit of a mad one with the Brute squad at lunchtime. Willow was on one again, so after she'd ran the rest of them ragged it was my turn to entertain her by playing tug of war with a stick. Like trying to wrestle a stick out of an alligator's mooth 🙈 Nae danger she was giving that up.
A quiet wander with the boys to finish off the day. Quiet but very, very moochy 😂 Of course the quiet didn't last as there were squirrels around so Mac was giving it laldie. The rest of them didn't even bat an eyelid, well used to it by now. The squirrels not so much.
