This is a post I've never wanted to make but some things need addressing.
Let's all be very clear, in our job, we will always prioritise welfare over vanity. There is no grey line, there is no in between. It's very black and white.
Under no circumstances will we ever dematt a dog who is matted to the skin. The pain this would cause them is cruel! We understand things happen, we will not judge, we will help in any way we can.
However, I will not accept attitude from people because your dog is matted and you don't like the result and wanted your pooch to be fluffy.
Your dogs coat, is your responsibility. Now I understand sometimes you can't get in when you want, or as I already said life gets in the way. But at the end of the day, that coat is your responsibility. You brush you own hair everyday, not once every few months!
Groomers don't clip dogs to be lazy! We clip them for the welfare of the dog. If you'd rather have the vanity side, we aren't the Groomers for you. If you have a problem with that, please test it out. Don't brush your own hair for a few months and then try demat it once it's stuck tight to your scalp. I can assure you, you won't like it!
We are groomers, not magicians, not miracle workers. There is no magic wand to come and fix things. This job is hard enough at the best of times.
We are kind people, we go out of our way for our clients. We've been grooming 18/19 years and have a waiting list of clients who want to be clients because of our reputation.
I have honestly had the worst few weeks of my life and to be real, I don't need this sort of attitude and behaviours on top of it.
Life is too short. Don't be mad at your groomer, work with your groomer. It's only hair at the end of the day, it will grow back. Just be happy your dog is now comfortable, matt free and happy for it ❤️
