Joanneβs Incredible Kilimanjaro Challenge for Remus
Remus supporter Joanne has achieved something truly extraordinary β she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Sanctuary, completing a sixβday trek up the highest mountain in Africa. Standing at an impressive 5,895 metres (19,341 feet), Kilimanjaro is a dormant stratovolcano in northeastern Tanzania and the tallest freeβstanding mountain in the world. Itβs no small challenge, and Joanne tackled it with determination, grit and a huge amount of heart.
On Wednesday 23rd October, she set off on her adventure. The trek was tough β long days, steep climbs, thin air and unpredictable weather β but Joanne described it as an amazing experience from start to finish. βIt was a mission that I set myself and wanted to achieve,β she said, and reaching the summit was a moment sheβll never forget.
Joanne also shared how deeply grateful she is to everyone who supported her journey. She wanted to say a very special thank you to all those who so kindly donated β helping her raise a magnificent Β£539 for the Sanctuary. Every donation meant the world to her and spurred her on during the hardest parts of the climb.
We are so proud of Joanne and so thankful to everyone who contributed. What an incredible achievement β and what a wonderful reminder of the difference one personβs determination can make.
