Another day another brilliant lesson!! Something we learn as equestrians is that there are more ups and downs with horses than a flipping roller coaster but boy when you’re on the ups it makes the downs seem that much more manageable. Another fantastic training session today with the boys today, thanks .lewis7 buzzing is an understatement

Progress!!

Ok so this is a me as a proffesional being open, honest and vulnerable.

This horse, wonderful and talented as he is, has been Achilles heel for quite a while now. I had developed some kind of mental block around my ability to ride something as special as he is.

As someone who coaches and rides for a living, there is are certain expectations that I should be able to just get on and crack on and as rightfully pointed out to me during a lesson the other day if it was a clients horse I would have done however when you become emotionally invested sometimes your head just gets in the way.

Anyway

My point here is that even those of us who do this for a living have our worries, fears and insecurities, confidence wobbles and moments when we think do I actually want to do this anymore and whilst it might only be a moment it still happens and whilst most of the time people see brave, confident (sometimes a little stupid) capable and experienced horse peope we are all only human and need the support system that our friends, family and coaches provide. As riders we never ever stop learning and growing.

To sum up, this week has been a turning point in our journey, we’ve taken a huge leap forward and I cannot thank my support system enough for being here to see me through the other side.

Thank you .lewis7 for the never ending support through my mental breakdowns and also@brilliant lessons

Ollie Bobbles you’ve been a challenge but here is to big things in our future

For our newer group members or just a general reminder for all of us with such busy lives!
Booking Policy 2026

Lesson availability will be posted by Saturday for the following week at the latest.

Lessons Monday to Friday need to be booked by 9am the day prior to when the lesson is requested. Saturday lessons need to be booked by 8pm Wednesday and Sunday lessons by 8pm Thursday in both cases so the arena can be booked to allow any liveries to make bookings around lessons. There will be no lessons available Monday to Friday 5-6 and Saturday 4-5. When booking, please state if you have a preference on time or if you are unable to attend at a certain time.

Please ensure you are at the school at your allotted time, if I am running late I am more than happy to make time up however if you are late this will be taken off your lesson time.

Schooling availability will be put out with lessons and will be incorporated into my normal day unless stated otherwise. If you wish to attend schooling and have a private session this will include arena hire charges. I am happy to get horses from the field, tack up and deal with after ride care where needed (wash off etc) If you require me to work on a specific issue again please let me know at booking.

Hacking is available for up to a usual session time of 45 mins, it you require the horse to go further afield this will require a double booking and is also subject to having an appropriate es**rt if required.

Clinics

Spaces on clinics will be on a first come first serve basis although once full any cancelation spaces will be advertised. Once again, please specify if you require a certain time on booking.

Cancellation policy.

I operate a 24 hour notice cancellation policy. Any sessions cancelled prior to 24hrs will not incur a charge, less that 24hrs will require 50% payment and any no shows or last minute cancellations will be charged at full price unless due to extreme circumstances.

I reserve the right the cancel lessons due to adverse weather conditions or if I believe there to be a health and safety risk.
Please be aware that if any problems arise during your lesson such as tack malfunctions, lameness, illness etc, that whilst I am always happy to help and advise, I am running a business and still have to pay the arena hire fee and cover my time so these sessions will still have to be charged. A reduced rate may be charged at my discretion depending on how long we have spent working through the issue.

Clipping, Pulling, Trimming, Show Prep (Plaiting etc)

When making bookings for any grooming services please be aware that I fit this around my usual schedule so if you have a certain timeline please give plenty of notice so I can ensure enough time to produce a high quality standard.

Any clipping bookings require the horse to be bathed in preparation up to 48 hours before hand or I can offer this service at an extra charge.
Please make sure you have specified what kind of clip you want when you book and also advise of any issues your horse may have so I can allow adequate time.

If you require a service that is not advertised please do not hesitate to contact me.

Payment

Full payment is required by close of shop (8pm) on the day of your lesson or service unless previously discussed.

Thank you all for your continued support of EVS Equine, I greatly enjoy working with you and your horses and helping you on your equestrian journey.
