⚠️ Cuteness Overload Alert! ⚠️

I had the pleasure this week of meeting Nancy, a Collie/Labrador puppy 🐾

In those first weeks at home, it’s so important to help puppies feel safe, build trust, and create strong, lasting bonds. Nancy is a slightly nervous pup, so we kept everything calm, low-pressure, and at her pace. Within the hour, she was already falling asleep with her head on my legs 💛

Given time and space, puppies learn to explore the world and build confidence in their own choices.

We covered socialisation, sleep, toilet training, and some basic foundation training. She’s already showing fabulous potential and, with the right support, is going to flourish. I can’t wait to see her progress.

In a world that is review driven and quite often faceless, I would be grateful if anyone that has used my services could leave me a google review. This helps people decide who they are going to trust with their dog, and which dog trainer might best meet their needs. Having been an RSPCA inspector for 20 years previously, this is a subject close to my heart. Crufts needs to change so please sign the petition if you support this and let’s make sure basic standards of welfare are upheld. Doesn’t feel like too much to ask.

Poppy’s Paws welcomed a new dog to the pack yesterday. Lovely 11 week old Barney has joined us for daily training. His owners really are setting him up for success with short daily training sessions with me and puppy classes with me through Dedicated to Dogs. He’s going to be the best behaved dog in Menston! Welcome Barney.

🎉 News! 🎉

I’m so excited to share that I’ve officially achieved my Reactivity Coach Level One Qualification through The Dog Trainer School. 🐾

Reactivity can be one of the most challenging behaviours and this training has given me deeper skills and knowledge to support dogs who struggle.

I can’t wait to put this into practice and help more dogs (and their owners) feel calmer, more confident, and more connected. 💜🐶

I enjoyed it so much I’ve already started Level 2! Here’s to the next chapter in the journey and being able to help more dogs. ✨

I love receiving updates from clients. Hearing how dogs are improving is the reason I do this job. Thank you Laura for letting me know how Milo is doing!

“Hi Emma hope you are well wanted to give you a little Milo update. Been a while but really wanted to share the progress this beautiful boy has made ! He’s off harness and collar lead walks only. Recall is 90% there everyday. Huge scent drive so does get distracted but honestly consistently working on your training has paid off ! He still has the snuffle treat boxes and licker matts and decompression time but crate has fully gone. He’s really come on leaps and bounds & just wanted to say thanks ! 🙏”

Today is even hotter than yesterday so please do not walk your dog. A dog will not die from not going for a walk but a walk in this weather could kill them. Keep them in and use it as an excuse to do some training.
