Hi Everyone
(sorry in advance this post might be a tad long)
Over the summer I have given a lot of though to my current prices and the services I offer (boarding, walks & pop ins). I have always kept my prices low, in fact my prices are well below the local average! The current local average for boarding is Β£40 -Β£50 per night per dog!!
I intend on keeping my prices affordable however (this is the bit no one wants to hear), over the years my business has most definitely impacted my availability to join in with family & friends events (unless I book it months & months in advance) this year alone in total I will have only had off 17 full weekends out of the 52 and that includes the weeks I book off! and of course I am aware that is part of the job. But there needs to be a viable reason for me missing out on family time, as it stands my current prices do not reflect this and if I am to be completely open I am lucky if I make minimum wage because of the hours required behind the scenes, the no holiday pay or sick cover, therefore I will be increasing my prices as from 1st January 2027.
