🌟 A very proud moment today! 🌟

A while back, one of our AP learners came up with the idea of delivering a therapeutic outreach visit to her own school. She worked with her teachers and our team to get everything organised, and today she and several of her peers successfully delivered two hours of sessions alongside Viv and Phil 💚💙

A great example of initiative, teamwork and putting learning into practice.

It's the end of another busy week at Noah’s ART, time for our amazing animals, staff and volunteers to have a rest and recharge... so we can do it all again next week!

This week is National Volunteers’ Week.

We would like to thank our volunteer team for all their hard work every week. They make it possible for our service to reach so many more people than we could without them. Whether it’s cleaning out, animal health checks, trips to the vets, or supporting outreach and 1:1s, it all counts. So a massive Thankyou all !

One of our alternative provision students hard at work designing and building a rat environment which meets the 5 Welfare Needs of rats. This task is part of the ASDAN Short Course in Animal Care 😊

Rats love a cluttered, busy environment full of enrichment and toys. They need a large space, with room and materials to express natural behaviours such as climbing, nesting and foraging 🐀 They are very sociable so need to be housed in pairs or groups, and strongly benefit from lots of time outside the cage exploring and utilising their intelligence and curiosity 🐾

Suitable for all ages, we utilise the motivating nature of animals to engage clients in therapeutic and creative activities. Aims may include improving self-esteem, tackling phobias, or pure relaxation. The presence of the animals supports a positive therapist-client relationship, promotes social interaction and reduces anxiety and stress.

We had the pleasure of having Tom the Vet & Tammy the vet nurse visit us and our AP students! 🐾🩺

They brought X-Rays and some microscope slides to give us a taste of what they do on a daily basis. They told us how they got into the industry, what they like best about the job and answered lots of our questions!

Thank you so much Manchester Vet Centre for coming and inspiring our young people ❤️
