We are incredibly proud of our team, what an achievement.

A huge thank you to the incredible team at Cromwell Vets for going the extra mile for Vetlife! 💚👏

A team of 11 took on the mighty Chiltern 50km Ultra Marathon, completing the challenge in an amazing 12 hours and 28 minutes! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⛰️

So far, they’ve raised over £2,500 to support Vetlife and our confidential emotional, mental health and financial support services for the veterinary community. 💚

Thank you to everyone at Cromwell Vets for taking on this incredible challenge and helping us support the veterinary community. You’re amazing! 🙌

Freddie's Post Op Check'

Freddie visited us for his post-operative check following his castration procedure the previous week. As you can see, he was happy to pose for a nice photo showing off his pearly white teeth.

All of our patients are seen in practice for a post-operative check following surgical procedures to ensure they are healing well.

At 5-7 days following a castration, the wound has passed from the inflammatory phase in to the proliferative phase of healing which means new skin is being formed, there may be some mild residual bruising but the wound should be dry and not have any residue or discharge from it.

This is an important time for the wound to be checked so that we can intervene if there are signs of infection.

Freddie's wound looked fantastic, he had been wearing his medical pet shirt after his procedure to prevent him licking or itching the area. It was lovely to see Freddie smiling and happy to see the team.

St Neots Cromwell Vets

Along with routine Vet/ Nurse consults and routine procedures our St Neots team is home to:

Pictured is Mollie one of our Registered Veterinary Nurses who has an interest in all things small animal. She helps to run our Small animal Clinics and is happy to see them for anything from a nail clip to a weight consult and all things in-between.

Also pictured is Vet Emily who has recently completed her Surgery Certificate.

Along with the rest of our fabulous St Neots team of Vets, Nurses and Client Care.

We have an upgraded cat friendly waiting area to aim to make a trip to the vets as stress free as possible.

We had a brief powercut which has resulted in our phones going down.

We have our calls transferred to one phone. We would kindly ask if you have a routine enquiry or medication request to use our website or email us [email protected].

If you have an emergency and are unable to get through, please head down to the Huntingdon hospital where you will be triaged.

We are working with our IT team to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Charity Challenge

A group of 11 of our team completed The Chiltern 50km Ultra Marathon.

They completed this massive challenge in 12hrs 28mins and have so far raised over £2500 in aid of Vetlife

VetLife is an important charity to us all at Cromwell’s. With our team previously completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks and 9 Edge challenge over the last few years.

The charity provides support to our veterinary community in times of severe emotional or health concerns.

The veterinary community continues to experience significantly higher levels of depression and su***de then the general public. Veterinarians are 4 times more likely to die from su***de than the general public, and nearly 70% of veterinarians have lost a colleague to su***de. A study on veterinary nurses found that nearly 75% of respondents had personally experienced a mental health concern and only half had received professional support for this.

Recently this has heightened with the continual negative press coverage the industry receives. As a result there are higher levels of anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts within our community.

By promoting Vetlife, we promote to friends, families, colleagues and clients, that we are more predisposed to ill mental health due to the critical paradox, emotional and physical distress, complaints, long hours...and the list goes on!

We also remind peers that it is okay to not be okay and seek help.

Meet our administration team

Some of our admin team have worked at Cromwells for many years, bringing an invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience.
We are lucky to have 4 Veterinary nurses within our admin team.
Behind the scenes the admin team are completing insurance forms and dealing with any enquiries you may have to do with your claim.
Creating estimates for procedures your pet is having so you are aware of all the costs ahead of their procedure.
The admin team liaise with the charities with work with to provide care for pets registered with them.
Covering payroll,banking and invoices.
Setting up and maintaining our monthly Pet Club that is open to cats,dogs and rabbits.
All this along with many more tasks allows Cromwells to run smoothly.

🐾 Happy Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Day! 🐾

“Receptionist” doesn’t quite do justice to everything our client care teams do.

Our team are the first and last point of contact for our lovely clients and their pets. They are true jacks of all trades — and somehow manage to keep everything moving, often while juggling a million things at once!

They can be chaos coordinators who remain calm under pressure, cleaners (we have many an accident 😆)telephonists, diary managers, administrators, flea and worming dispensers, cash ups, triage support, problem solvers, something is broken… call reception 😆and the all-important friendly face that helps our clients and their beloved pets in any way they can.

And that’s only scratching the surface — their list of jobs is endless!

You may sometimes hear the words “just a receptionist”, but there is absolutely no “just” about what they do. 💙

We appreciate our incredible Client Care Team for going above and beyond every single day. We are so lucky to have such a fabulous team who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our practice running and, most importantly, to make sure our clients and their pets feel supported, welcomed and cared for.

Well done to our amazing team, and to all the veterinary receptionists out there — today is for you! 🐾💐

She came in for her first vaccinations and was such a good girl — she was an absolute little superstar! 🌟
