MEET THE TEAM- ELLEN 🐾

This is Ellen, one of our lovely Veterinary Nurses!

Ellen has been part of the Hungerford team since 2021 and is currently just waiting to sit her OSCEs after returning from maternity leave. 🎓

When she’s not at work, Ellen enjoys getting out for walks with her doggies and making the most of the countryside.

She’s also currently getting to grips with the wonderful world of new mum life, with her little one who’s now 5 months old! 👶

We will be so pleased to have Ellen back with us and we’re sure you’ll see plenty more of her around the practice!

We have had a young black & white male cat brought into our Pewsey branch. He is well & very friendly, but unfortunately does not have a microchip so we have been unable to trace his owner. He was found in Collingbourne Ducis. Please call us on 01488 683999 if you think he might be yours.

MEET THE TEAM- CLARE 🐾

Meet Clare, one of our lovely vets!

Clare qualified as a vet in 2024 after studying at the University of Nottingham. She has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging but enjoys all aspects of being a vet.

She also has a real soft spot for our feathered patients! 🐦

Outside of work, Clare plays netball and is a proud supporter of Arsenal WFC. ⚽️❤️

🎆 Firework Season: Help Your Pet Feel Safe 🎆

For some pet owners, the word “fireworks” can conjure up the worst feelings! If you have a nervous or noise-sensitive pet, please contact us well in advance of firework season so we can help you both get through the whizzes, bangs and fizzes. 🎇

We can't wave a magic wand but we can discuss the options available and appropriate therapy that may help make firework season a little more bearable for you and your pet. ❤️

🏠 Create a safe haven

Choose a room with as few windows as possible and start preparing it a few weeks before the fireworks are expected. This gives your pet time to become familiar with the space and learn that it is somewhere safe.

Try to:
• Cover the windows to reduce flashes and noise
• Make sure your pet can easily get in and out
• Add a cosy blanket and something that smells like you
• Include their favourite toy
• Provide food, water and some tasty treats
• Encourage them to spend time in the room before firework season begins

Most importantly, don't wait until the fireworks start to make preparations.
