😈 The teenager 😈

💎 “All emotions are welcome, all behaviour is not” 💎

At 15 months old, Frenzy is a teen and I have to say, I enjoy this time even though parts of it are hard work 😂

It’s a time where the dog is developing both mentally and physically, currently Frenzy is tall and skinny and sometimes looks a bit like a cartoon 🥰 mentally however, I am starting to see flashes of her being more grown up and serious 😎
There are training sessions where she feels really strong and things are starting to come together, and others where I wonder if I ever trained her but that’s the period we are in and it’s ok, it’s important to remember that she’s developing neurologically which can have a day to day impact as the emotional part of the brain is faster to develop that the areas responsible for self control. 🤯

That’s why one of the things I teach my dogs and dogs I coach is this….”All emotions are welcome but all behaviour is not”
Meaning you can feel how you feel and I don’t seek to suppress that but you also need ways to cope and I can show you how

Frenzy has a BIG personality, she’s definitely there 😂 and I love it ❤️‍🔥

I thought I’d share this, it’s one of my favourite ever parts of trial obedience with Blitz, even though it’s incorrect 💁🏻‍♀️
Blitz should jump out, get the dumbbell and back over the jump but because of my ridiculous throwing she can’t make the jump back, so she does this 💎💎
Yes we lost the points, but we loved everyone clapping, I loved that Blitz did that to try and do the full exercise and help me out 🥳
I couldn’t ask for a more honest field partner than I have in Blitz, and let this be a reminder that no matter what you’re doing, it might go “wrong” but it’s not always the points that you remember most, it’s the connection and experiences 💖
And if this is going to happen…..it might as well be on the biggest stage available, which was the FCI IGP world championship 24 in Croatia 🇭🇷 💜🐾

We only have a couple of spaces left for our awesome Chillingham Castle 🏰 event next year.
It’s a fabulous venue, in a gorgeous location and we have 3 jam packed days of scent detection, tracking, working on your connection with your dog plus lots of social time and really good cake 🎂

💎💎 Foundations 💎💎

Anyone who works dogs at a high level will
Say the same thing……foundations foundations foundations 💪🏻💪🏻

At the weekend Blitz was a dummy dog in a trial, meaning she came out and worked an obedience round (to even the numbers out, not as part of the trial)
She hasn’t been on the trial field since early 2025, yet she just got out of the van, switched on and did the work, the reason……her foundations are strong, yes she has extensive trial experience but ultimately it’s the foundations that ensure the dog can keep on doing the thing, it’s second nature, we see this in so many dogs and they love it 💜

Foundations are the grind, the hard work, the day to day, the small tiny details, they’re the practice brought through personal discipline, they’re the part that ensures your house doesn’t fall down 💪🏻

Teach them, then spend forever revisiting them and keeping them motivated, interesting and strong 🥳
