A little favour from us at Happy Meadows 🐶

We care about keeping our meadows and the surrounding environment as clean and green as possible, so please can we ask that any plastic bottles you bring with you are taken home and recycled wherever possible. ♻️💚

Our dog waste bins are specifically for dog waste only 🐶💩. Unfortunately, our specialist dog waste collection company charges us if bottles or any other general rubbish are placed in these bins.

By taking your bottles home to recycle, you’re helping us reduce unnecessary waste, look after our environment and keep Happy Meadows a lovely place for everyone.

Thank you so much for helping us do our little bit for the planet 💚♻️🐾🌍

Let’s talk grass 🌱

With the cosy season setting in 🥰🍂, we’ve decided to call our previous cut the last cut of the year and head into our winter maintenance period.

This helps us protect the ground and keep the parks open for as long as possible before they start turning into a mud bath! 🐾🌧️

Of course, with longer grass comes a little more 💩 being left behind… or shall we say, getting lost 😆👀

So please be extra vigilant when picking up after your dogs, especially while the grass is a little longer. We’re so grateful to everyone who helps us keep Happy Meadows happy, clean and enjoyable for everyone. 💚🌱

And to those lovely people who spot and pick up one that somebody else has missed… YOU ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! 😘💖🐾

Thank you, as always, for helping us look after our Happy Meadows 🥰🐾

12 years old 🥹🖤 turning grey, selective hearing 👀, a few limps here and there 🥰 treasuring every second! ✨

Most people aren’t aware that when a dog ends up with the dog warden they have 7 days to be claimed, 7 days to be rehomed/ taken by a rescue or they are PTS.

Dogs in rescue kennels can spend 23 hours a day in that kennel, so if the excuse is you work all day, you don’t have the time… your home with your love already out weighs the kennel life.

This life is a life rescues dream of…adopt don’t shop, they are waiting for someone like you to turn up and save them ❤️‍🩹

⚠️ HOT WEATHER DOG WARNING ⚠️ Cold water shock can happen to dogs too 🐶🌊

When dogs suddenly leap into cold lakes, rivers or the sea, especially in this hot weather, the shock can trigger:
• gasping
• panic
• muscle cramping
• breathing difficulties
• hypothermia

This is often caused by dogs charging full-speed into water after balls or sticks.

Help keep them safe:
🐾 Let them enter slowly
🐾 Allow time to acclimatise
🐾 Use a lead near water if needed
🐾 Avoid repetitive ball throwing into cold water
🐾 Watch for currents & deep water

If it happens:
➡️ Stay calm
➡️ Call them gently back to shore
➡️ Warm and dry them gradually
➡️ Contact a vet urgently if they collapse, struggle breathing, seem weak or confused

And please remember — don’t put yourself at risk entering the water. Many owners get into difficulty trying to rescue pets.

Slow entry. Cool heads. Safe dogs. ❤️

The temperature is set to climb over the next few days so please please be extra careful with your dogs 🐶

Where we deem it too warm or unsafe we will rearrange training sessions for safety. We would always rather be safe than sorry! Your dogs welfare will always come first.

We will be in touch if your session needs to be arranged and where possible we will be doing earlier morning and later evening sessions. Thankyou all for your patience 🙏

Enjoy the weather and stay safe everyone 💙

Dogs die in hot cars❗️

Temperatures of just 20 degrees celsius outside, can cause a car to reach over 45 degrees in as little as an hour. Even for short stops, don't leave your dog in the car.

📞 If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, dial 999 immediately.
