I’ve learnt that making my job easier with ADHD & Autism isn’t about trying to work like everyone else. It’s about creating a business that actually works with MY brain. 🧠✨
A few things that make a huge difference for me:
✨ Having a wall covered in my achievements & favourite photos, because I really struggle to believe in myself, so I need those reminders on the days my brain tells me I’m not good enough.
✨ 30 minutes between clients. Not because I’m “taking it easy”, but because I need that time to reset, ground myself and get ready for the next dog without feeling completely overwhelmed.
✨ Working on my own. No masking, no pretending I’m okay when I’m not, no constantly worrying about what other people think. I can just be me.
✨ Using products that I LOVE. I don’t want to use something just because someone else says I should. If I love it, it works for me and my grooming, then that’s what I’m using. 💅🏼
I’ve spent so much of my life feeling like I needed to fit into everyone else’s idea of how I should work.
Building Rockstar Dog Spa has given me the chance to do things differently. 🤘🏼
And honestly, I’m still figuring it out.
So I’d love to know 👇🏼
If you have ADHD, Autism, or you simply struggle with work because of the way your brain works, what little things have you put in place that make life easier for you?
Whether you run your own business, work for someone else, or you’re just trying to get through the working day.
