Hoyland continues to grow and evolve, with new housing developments, businesses, and community initiatives helping to shape the town’s future. With more people choosing to live, work, and invest in
the area, Hoyland and its surrounding villages are becoming an increasingly vibrant place to call home. We share local news, events, updates, and important information from across Hoyland, Elsecar, Birdwell, Jump, Platts Common and the surrounding areas. From lost pets and road issues to business announcements, community appeals, and local success stories — our aim is to make sure residents always know what’s happening in their community. What started as a simple community page has grown into a much wider platform, reaching tens of thousands of people every week. Alongside our online presence, the MyHoyland Hub provides a physical community point where people can pop in, ask questions, share notices, advertise local services, or simply have a chat. MyHoyland is run by a small team of dedicated volunteers who give up their free time to keep the platform running. We work to broadcast local news, support charities, promote community events, and help local people connect with the services and information they need. Much of what we share comes directly from the community, so if you have a story, event, or issue you think people should know about, please do get in touch. We also offer affordable advertising opportunities for local businesses, helping them reach a large and engaged local audience. Income generated through advertising and promotions is reinvested back into the community, supporting local groups, initiatives, and charitable causes across Hoyland and the surrounding area.
