Reptiles make fascinating pets to keep and there are species available for both novice and experienced keepers alike.

From lizards and tortoises to turtles and snakes, each reptile has their specific requirements when it comes to their enclosures. Temperature, humidity, lighting and diet requirements differ between each reptile.

We recommend checking:

🦎 Temperatures: Reptiles rely on external heat sources to regulate their internal temperature. Monitoring temperature gradients is essential to their health.

🐢 Lighting: Many reptiles, including tortoises, chameleons and bearded dragons, require UVB lighting to support their bones and metabolism. Many bulbs have a 6-month expiry, but may look fine to our eyes, so check to see when you last purchased one.

🐍 Diet: Some reptiles are herbivores, others are omnivores and many are carnivores. We suggest researching your specific reptile's dietary requirements to ensure they are receiving a variety of foods.

This National Reptile Day, let’s help raise awareness of this unique collection of animals and make sure they receive the care they deserve!

Let’s flood the comments with photos of your reptilian friends.

Mammary lumps can affect both dogs and cats, and they may sometimes be noticed during something as simple as grooming, cuddling or a routine veterinary examination.

That’s why we encourage pet owners to:

🐾 Check their pets regularly for new lumps

🐾 Pay attention to swelling or changes around the mammary glands

🐾 Keep up with routine veterinary health checks

🐾 Contact us if anything feels unusual

Pets can’t tell you when something has changed, so knowing what is normal for them is an important part of responsible pet care.

Share this reminder with other pet owners this October.
