A little trip to Dalton Park Outlet & Outdoors with Atlas & Walter; practicing calmness and proofing their obedience in a busy environment. Lots of people and dogs around to test them and they both smashed it 👏

When you have a larger breed, they’re often held to a different standard compared with smaller dogs. A little barking or reactivity from a small lap dog might be overlooked, but the same behaviour from a large dog can be much more intimidating. That’s why we need to take our time and make sure they can behave calmly and appropriately in a wide range of environments.

Loads going on today at the park. Funfairs, football, kids running, dogs everywhere, music going; lots of things for Atlas here to take in and learn how to conduct himself around, accepting these things as a normal part of life.

What’s especially testing of his impulse control is when the kids kept accidentally tossing their tennis ball our way.
