😡Scam Alert! We DO NOT ask for money to reunite people’s lost / missing cats!

We have been made aware tonight of scammers who are targeting people whose cat is missing in the area, telling them their cat is at Simply Cats and they can collect tonight (outside of our advertised opening hours) if they transfer £200 straight away to a designated account.

Let’s be clear….. we have never, nor will we ever, ask for money to reunite a beloved pet with their owner.

We do everything we can to reunite any animal brought to us to its rightful owner and do this for free just as everyone would expect us to.
Please NEVER send money online to anyone claiming to work for us other than in our premises via our card payment machine.

😻🩶Job opportunity🩶😻

We are looking for a part-time Veterinary Care Assistant to join our team here at Simply Cats Vet Clinic, 12 - 18 hours per week.

This exciting role requires you to support our clinical team with the hands-on care of our patients, both within consultations and the hospital environment, with a calm and cat-friendly approach at all times.
You will be involved in the handling of our patients as well as preparing equipment and clinical environments for procedures and hospitalisation following high standards of health, safety and infection control.
You will also assist in the day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of the clinical areas and equipment.
A keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential, as you will be involved in running in-house diagnostic tests, and preparing samples to be sent for external analysis.
You will assist in the dispensary, preparing medications and maintaining stock levels, and you will also liaise directly with clients both face-to-face and over the phone therefore strong communication skills are a must.
The VCA role requires someone who is adept at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, with a caring and empathetic attitude to both our patients and their care-givers. Organisational skills and the ability to adapt and prioritise tasks are essential, and you must be able to remain calm under pressure.

Right in the heart of our clinic, our VCAs are known within the team as “the glue that holds the clinic together”.
Experience within the veterinary profession is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided…….. although a natural love of cats is, of course, essential!

📝🩺You’ve packed your case, your suncream and your holiday spends……… but in case of an emergency have you communicated vet-care arrangements to us?

We’re increasingly receiving calls from worried cat sitters (usually a family member) or a cattery asking to bring the cat in for an urgent medical reason but without us having prior authorisation from yourself, the owner, we’re very limited in what we can do to help.

So as you’re packing up for a break away please also take a moment to either call us or email us and just give us the name of the person who is taking responsibility for that short period of time. We hope this isn’t needed, but on the occasion that it is it really does help everyone at the time 😻

An unneutered male cat, approximately 1 year old, was brought in to us today from the Wynyard Street, Fencehouses area. If this may be your cat please do get in touch with us - the cat is not injured or unwell and is being looked after by a neighbour in the meantime
