Can you spare a minute to nominate us? Every nomination gives us a better chance of being drawn to win £5,000 funding from the Benefact Group’s Animal and Wildlife fund Special Draw.

As a small charity, funding like this can make a real difference. If you've enjoyed a visit to Huxley's, attended one of our experiences, volunteered with us, or simply believe in what we do, we'd be incredibly grateful if you could take a moment to nominate us.

We are listed under our charity’s name - Huxley’s Foundation, charity number 1208765.

Thank you for your support!

It’s that time of year again where we remember where Huxley’s all started and the sad day this time in 2021 when we lost its founder.

Always in our memories Julian and we’re still going!

A big thank you to Southern Cranes & Access! 🏗️

Storage has always been a challenge for us. For a long time we've been renting space locally just to keep our equipment safe and out of the way.

So we were thrilled to finally get our very own 40ft container! There was just one small problem... how on earth were we going to move it? 😅

That's where our amazing friends at Southern Cranes & Access stepped in. They made light work of relocating it for us, and we're so grateful for their help and support.

Thank you, team. We really appreciate it! 💚

Can you guess which bird Nathan has today? A few clues:

- My eyes are so dark they're almost black, unlike many other owls which have yellow or orange eyes.
- I have a heart-shaped face that helps me hear even the quietest sounds.
- I was hand-reared, so I see people as my parents which means I can be quite loud at times!

We will post Nathan’s video about this bird on Saturday - check in to see if you guessed correctly!

What an amazing response we’ve had to our request for photos for Huxley’s very first calendar.

We’ve absolutely loved seeing all the incredible photos our visitors have taken for our inaugural 2027 calendar. We’ve collated just a handful of the images we’ve received so far, and we’ll share more over the next week or so.

If you’ve taken any photos of our birds of prey, meerkats, porcupines, parrots, raven, flying displays, hawk walks, owl experiences etc and would like the chance to see them in print - please do send them in asap for a chance for your picture to be included in Huxley’s first ever calendar.

We need photos in by close of play on Friday 25th September - we’re going to have a tough job choosing only twelve to feature!

We are so excited - we are going to publish our very first calendar! Boyce Publishing Ltd have very kindly offered to donate a first print run of calendars for 2027 - and we’d love to be able to fill them with photos taken by our very own visitors.

If you have taken any photos at the centre and would like the chance to have them featured in our 2027 calendar, please share them with us!

You can email your photos to [email protected]. We have a tight deadline - we’d like to be able to seend our chosen photos to the publisher by Friday 25th September.

We’ll choose our favourites for the calendar - keep your eyes peeled for an announcement when they are available to buy!

Which bird does Andy have with him this week? Your clues are:

- This bird has broad, rounded wings which gives them a wide and powerful silhouette when they are soaring
- They have a ‘mewing’ call which you may hear when they circle above woodland.
- They like to perch up high, on tall trees or telegraph poles, as they can scan their surroundings for prey.
- They actually have quite a variety of plumage colours, from very pale to very dark, with mottled patterns.

Check out the page on Friday to find out if you guess correctly!
