Due to staff illness, unfortunately we won't be attending Abakahns fun day today ☹️

We hate having to cancel events but sometimes it can't be helped.

We apologise to anyone that was looking forward to seeing us. You can catch us at Gwyrch castle on the 26th though, for our final Wildlife Wednesday of the year, and we'll also be at the Denbigh show on the 29th!

People often ask how/why our animals are so friendly...

Well because we do things like this 😂

Here's Honey out shopping with us at Jollyes Flint - The Pet People after her annual check up at the vets. She had fusses and picked out plenty of tasty treats for her and all her friends 😊

From extreme highs, to extreme lows...

On yesterday's post we touched on the fact that lately we've been feeling a bit down. This came to a head on Friday, when Bandit, everyone's favourite ferret passed suddenly during what should have been a routine procedure ☹️

We were, and still are, heartbroken. Bandit started coming to shows initially just to show the difference between him and Casper, but it soon became apparent that he was going to be a star. With his loving and curious nature he earned fans at every show and he will be missed more than we can express 💔

We don't like sharing this side of what we do but we think it's important people understand that doing this isn't always sunshine and rainbows 😕

There really isn't much else to say except RIP little Bandit...😥

We need to talk about yesterday...🤯

We know there's other experiences out there that are busier than us. We know we don't have a fancy gazebo, or our logo all over a van. We probably appear pretty basic compared to others 😅

What we do have, is a genuine passion for animal welfare and a simple goal, to spread that message as far as we can.

Lately though, we'll be honest, we've been questioning whether that's enough. Competing against these other companies is difficult. They have more availability than we do as we have to work to fund this, they don't rescue, or take in animals with issues, so they have more finances than we do 😕

But yesterday shattered all those doubts. The amount of people that came out, and waited to see us. And not just that, the atmosphere, the conversations we had, the new appreciation people had when we explained things like why you shouldn't handle tarantulas, everything. You guys were amazing and we are incredibly humbled 😊

The post is getting a bit long now so we'll wrap it up by saying a huge thank you to Fern at the Hive for inviting us, to Josh, our amazing volunteer, without who we absolutely not have managed 😂 and to everyone who came to see us, you've well and truly given us our motivation back 💚

We'll see you all again soon 😁
