⚠️RECALL ALERT: YEARS RECALLS ALL FRESH DOG MEALS⚠️

Years has announced a voluntary recall of all Years fresh dog meals with immediate effect.

The decision follows a growing number of reports of dogs developing sudden bilateral dry eye (keratoconjunctivitis sicca, or KCS) whilst fed the food.

According to Years, its investigation has identified a potential link with buckwheat, an ingredient used in all of its fresh meals since the start of this year.

If you currently feed Years:
• Stop feeding all Years fresh meals immediately.
• Do not feed the meals to any other animal.
• Follow Years' guidance regarding the recall, refunds and collection of unused food.

Symptoms to watch for:
If your dog displays any of the following symptoms, contact your veterinary surgeon as soon as possible. Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly reduce the risk of permanent damage.

• Redness or inflammation of the eyes
• Thick eye discharge
• Frequent blinking or squinting
• Pawing or rubbing at the eyes
• A dull, cloudy or dry appearance to the eye surface

Well this was a very nice surprise today!

As well as being a finalist for the shop, we've been announced today as a finalist for Atticus Academy of Animals!

We're absolutely over the moon to have been recognised for Atticus. When we first started the project, Rebecca and I had a vision of bringing affordable animal education to the general public, and it is proving to be extremely popular. Thank you as always for all of your support, it's massively appreciated.

We are always talking to people about reading compositions on packs, to truly know and understand what you're feeding your furry family.

A great example of why is Harringtons Salmon and Potato (they are by far not alone with this).

From the front, you could be forgiven for thinking that the only meat protein in this pack is salmon, and your carbohydrate is potato. You could almost even think it was grain free, even though it doesn't specify it.

It's only when you look at the composition that you realise that salmon makes up only 7% of the meat content, with unknown meat (not fish) making up the other 93% of the meat protein. Plus there's also chicken fat and chicken gravy, so if your needing to avoid chicken then your out of luck here.

And then we look at the fillers. Maize, barley and oats all feature higher than the 4% potato that's mentioned on the front.

The pet industry regulations are designed to help big companies profit, not look after you or your family. Always bear this in mind when looking at foods.

As you guys know, we do a lot of work with Cornwall’s Rewind Radio.

Each year they put on an event called Conrnwall's Heroes Awards, whereby they highlight and celebrate people from across the Duchy who are heroes within each category.
