Phoenix Pet Care is an overnight in-home pet sitting service covering all aspects of daily care 24/7. I am fully insured and well versed in basic pet first aid.

I have been looking after pets professionally for over 8 years. Growing up, I spent my childhood on a small goat farm and was involved of all aspects of livestock care from milking to new born care. I have never been far from a dog or cat and have also owned chickens, fish and a variety of rodents. Luna the bengal cat has a funny game she likes to play. Sometimes when Ralph and I start off on a walk, she'll come darting after us and position herself directly in front of my feet or Ralph. She'll get very cross and give us dirty looks if we try to go in front of her and has been know to pounce on my legs or poor Ralph much to his dismay. 😂 It's like she doesn't want us leaving the property without her permission. 😅 Usually some pets and attention are enough to pacify her and she'll get bored after a few minutes and let us go on our way but it's pretty funny to watch. 😆🐾🐾

Ralph and Luna just love a good snuggle. No greater sign of trust than a cat showing you all that fluffy belly fur. 😊 And it turns out Ralph is a big fan of pillow forts. 😅

Ralph and I had a great adventure at one of our favourite walking places this morning! We had one heavy rain shower chase us down but were able to dodge most of under the trees much to Ralph's delight as he does not like walking in the rain. 😅 But mostly the weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun taking in the views and getting lots of fresh air! Ralph loves a good long ramble and he rides in style. 😎

No rest for the weary, straight to my next job! But luckily these two are very familiar faces. This is my 5th years looking after Ralph and Luna. These guys have been with me from the very beginnings of my business and we've had a lot of adventures together. We know eachother well and they are just as lovely as ever. I'm looking forward to a couple weeks with old friends. :) 🐾🐾

And that's a wrap! These guys are just so sweet and I'll certainly miss them! They all did brilliantly and I had a great couple weeks with them. Old Henry spent most mornings in his favourite chair followed by some time lounging around the garden when it cooled off. He was never one to pass on a meal time and would certainly let me know when it was time for a snack. 😅 He's just such a laid back cat, loves a fuss and a nap. Hetty is a little independent explorer. She was off on her own adventures most days but liked finding her way into my bed in the evenings. 😊 In typical cat fashion, she prefers doing things on her own terms which makes it even more rewarding when she comes looking for a fuss. And sweet Jack, he did so good even though I'm sure he's still missing Jiya. We had a lot of great long country walks followed by naps in one his comfy beds. He's a faithful companion and just a lovely boy all around. Happy content animals, the most important part of the job. 😌 Be good you three! 🐾🐾🐾

The gang and I just had our own little eclipse watch party! None of us managed to aquire the coveted eclipse glasses so we improvised! Actually, Jack, Hetty, and Henry seemed more impressed by the sudden shade and cooling from what was an extremely hot day! 😅🌠🌙

Jack wants to send a friendly reminder to those with furry friends. With a 5th heatwave underway, please be mindful of the temperature and canine safety during these warm days! The best times to walk are morning before noon or late afternoon/evening. Of course some dogs need a little walk for the toilet so do try to stay off pavement if possible. Remember pavement and sand get much hotter than air temperature. If you wouldn't walk barefoot in the middle of a very hot day, dogs shouldn't either. They have tough paws but can still burn quite quickly in conditions like these. Elderly dogs, puppies, and dogs with medical conditions are especially susceptible to heat related injuries, just like humans. But even healthy fit pups can become exhausted quickly under the blazing sun. Make sure and keep lots of cold water on hand and if they do fancy some time in the garden, be like Jack and seek out the shade! 😎 Enjoy these dogs days of summer and be safe! 😁🐾🐾
