After 8 long weeks of cage rest George is finally allowed out of his cage and reunited with his best friend Glen 🐾🐾

He still has another 2 weeks of house arrest before we’ll even consider letting him outside.

He’s so lucky to still be with us after his car accident, we will be terrified the first day he goes outside but he’s always loved going out.

He just wants to go out all of the time but he’s not quite strong enough just yet (we certainly aren’t) πŸ₯Ί

Thank you to everyone for your kind messages and for asking about him.❀️🐾

Hello everyone, as some of you may be aware, just a week after we lost Maggie, our cat George was hit by a car.

His β€œrap sheet” was as long as your arm; fractured pelvis, he was in shock, temperature of 32 degrees, acute kidney failure, severe anaemia, he was collapsed and close to death.

Hi bladder was no longer working and we discovered a cyst around his kidney and occult heart disease.

2 days after his accident he developed a diaphragmatic hernia, his intestines, stomach and spleen were wrapped around his heart.

We had to perform emergency surgery to remove the abdominal contents from his chest and repair his diaphragm.

At the same time we performed surgery on the cyst around his kidney to create a permanent drain to prevent fluid build up and placed a urinary catheter to drain the urine from his bladder.

It has been 4 weeks since his accident, and there were many times we thought he wouldn’t make it, but we are thrilled to report he is making a full recovery!β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

His pelvis is healing, his kidney values have returned to normal, his anaemia has resolved and the diaphragm and kidney surgery appear to have been a complete success.

He has caused us so much upset and stress but we are just so glad he is still with us and continuing his recovery.

He has definitely used up most of his 9 lives.!! πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›
