And just like that, the school holidays were over…

It’s a bit quieter at the zoo now that the summer crowds are gone and some of our animals have definitely noticed a change 👀 But, we are asking the same question that we ask ourselves every week. Who has been a Star? 🌟 And who has been a scamp? 😈

⭐ Stars of the Week ⭐
Ralph, Ruby and Rosemary, the Fallow Deer!

There’s less bags of deer food on offer now, but our three have been enjoying their browse instead 🌿

Wid, the African Grey Parrot…

She’s whispering in keeper’s ears and we can’t tell if it’s sweet nothings or something more sinister… 😟

There’s something special about getting to hand feed deer and ours are no exception. ✨ Just watch out for Ralph being sneaky! He will eat the pellets, and the bag, and that sign over there… He’s the reason we remind everyone to watch their belongings! 🤦 If he could talk, he would ask you to buy more deer food, please. 🙏 Never change, Ralph 😆

Well… if you ask Kibanzi, apparently sitting on your head is close enough! 😂❤️

Our meerkats are incredibly curious, friendly little characters and our Mini Meet the Meerkats gives you the chance to step inside with them and experience their personalities for yourself.

There’s no picking up or posing our animals – Kibanzi chose this seat all by himself! And that’s exactly what makes these encounters so special. 🥰

Both Wilbur and Toky are on rotation in our Animal Encounters marquee. If you don’t see them when you visit you may see their friends Babe the Hognose Snake, or one of our four Tenrec ladies instead! Make sure to visit the other animals in the marquee too 😊
