NASDU Annual Management Review Meeting 2026

Today representatives from NASDU Head Office, Administration, Quality and the Inspectorate met at the Holiday Inn Express, Pegasus Business Park, Derby, for the Association's Annual Management Review Meeting.

Attending were Steve Hill, Roger Flett, Sam Flett, Sara Rathbone and Simon Mallin.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the previous 12 months, discuss current projects and priorities, and look ahead to the coming year.

Topics covered included governance, administration, quality assurance, trainer approvals, inspections, learning programmes, certifications, standards development, membership services, business continuity and future planning.

As much of NASDU's day-to-day work is carried out remotely, meetings such as this are important. They allow key personnel to sit down together, review progress, discuss challenges, make decisions and ensure a consistent approach across the various areas of the Association.

A great deal was achieved throughout the day and a number of actions were agreed that will help support NASDU, its members and the continued development of professional standards within the security dog sector.

Much of this work takes place behind the scenes and is rarely seen by members, but it remains an important part of ensuring the Association continues to operate effectively and deliver the services expected of it.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a productive day.

Last week Roger and I attended the NASDU AGM in Woking
It was nice to catch up with friends and put faces to names
Roger is director of NASDU and we also run the NASDU Admin office generating the certification and membership
Roger is also a NASDU approved trainer and delivers training for General purpose security dogs and detection dogs for explosives 🐾🐾

Hello
Happy bank holiday 🐾🐾

All classes will be on this week as the classroom is fairly cool and we can take things steady
There will be plenty of water available
We understand however if you feel it’s too hot to travel with your dogs
Here’s some fab information from
on how to keep your dogs safe in the warm weather
Please be aware when using cooling jackets that if there not kept wet regularly can have the opposite effect and make your dogs event hotter !!
