🌡️ HOT WEATHER ALERT 🌡️

With temperatures forecast to reach up to 36°C this week, we’re asking all pet owners to take extra care to keep their pets safe and comfortable.

If you have a routine appointment booked and would prefer to rearrange it for a cooler day, please give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.

Due to the increased risk of heat-related illness, we strongly advise owners of brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, such as Bulldogs, Pugs and French Bulldogs, to avoid attending the practice unless it is an emergency.

Please remember:
💧 Provide fresh water at all times
🏠 Keep pets cool and out of direct heat
🚗 Never leave pets in vehicles
🐾 Walk dogs during the coolest parts of the day

If you are concerned that your pet may be suffering from heatstroke, contact us immediately.

Stay safe and thank you for helping us keep our patients comfortable during the hot weather.

Some of the most loving dogs come from the hardest beginnings 🐾❤️

This National Rescue Dog Day, we’re thinking about all the rescue dogs who found safety, comfort, and unconditional love in the arms of families like yours — and all the dogs still waiting for that same chance 💙

The scared dog who now sleeps peacefully on your sofa.
The timid pup who learned to trust again.
The dog who rescued you right back when you needed them most.

Many of our own nurses and team members have rescue dogs too, so we know first-hand just how special that bond can be. We also understand that vet visits can sometimes feel overwhelming for rescue pets, especially those who may have had difficult past experiences.

That’s why our aim is always to make every pet feel as safe, calm, and comfortable as possible when they visit us 🐶✨ From gentle handling to extra patience and reassurance, we want every dog to know they’re in caring hands.

And for every dog already living their happy ending, there are still so many more waiting in rescues and shelters to be seen, loved, and given a place to call home ❤️

If your dog is a rescue, we’d absolutely love to see them. Share a photo and tell us their story in the comments — how they found you, what makes them special, or the moment you knew they were finally home 📸👇

Let’s fill today with rescue stories, wagging tails, and hope for the dogs still waiting for their forever families 💙

Today we celebrate 100 years of a man who didn’t just show us the natural world — he taught us how to love it. 🌍🦋🐘

For generations, David Attenborough has been the voice behind our wonder, our curiosity, and our compassion for animals and the planet we share. From childhood memories sitting wide-eyed in front of the television 📺✨ to the moments that shaped our careers, his storytelling made wildlife feel personal, precious, and worth protecting. 🐋🌿

For so many of us working in veterinary care, this is where it began. ❤️🐾
The fascination.
The respect.
The overwhelming desire to help animals live healthier, safer lives. 🩺🐶🐱

He reminded us that every creature matters — from the tiniest insect 🐞 to the largest whale 🐋 — and that kindness towards animals says everything about who we are.

Today, on his 100th birthday 🎂, we simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for inspiring generations to care more deeply. 🌱
Thank you for helping us see beauty where others saw ordinary. 🦜🦒
And thank you for reminding the world that protecting animals is not just important — it is essential. 🌎💚

Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David. 🕊️
Your voice, your passion, and your legacy will live on in every person who chose a life caring for animals because of you. 🐾❤️

You might remember his sister Rosie—the one who famously ate an entire bedsheet… well, now it’s Max’s turn to keep us on our toes! 😅🐾

Max came to us feeling very sorry for himself and completely off his food. His owners know him inside out, so they knew straight away that something wasn’t right 💛

On examination, Ella recommended X-rays to investigate further—and they revealed suspicious gas patterns that raised concern.

We took Max into surgery for an exploratory laparotomy, and it turned out to be quite the case 🏥✨ He had eaten a tea towel that had shredded in his intestines making it extremely tricky to safely free. On top of that, his stomach contained even more tea towel… and the cap from a washing liquid bottle 😳

A huge thank you to our vets Ella and Nik 🩺 and our amazing nursing team who carried out his X-rays, carefully monitored his anaesthetic, and supported him through his recovery 👏💙

Thankfully, Max did brilliantly and made a fantastic recovery 🌟 He was soon back to his usual self and even went off on a well-earned holiday to Norfolk with his parents to continue recuperating 🌊🐕

At his post-op checks, he was a completely different boy—bright, happy, and full of love 🥰

We’re so pleased to see Max back where he belongs 💙🐾

It’s Veterinary Receptionist Week 💙

We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible women at the front of our practice — the ones who keep everything running smoothly, no matter how busy the day gets.

From the first friendly hello to the last reassuring word, you are the calm in the chaos, the organisers behind the scenes, and the heart of our client care. You juggle calls, comfort worried pet parents, support the clinical team, and somehow still manage to do it all with kindness and a smile.

And yes… when you appear round the corner looking for a nurse or a vet with that “quick question…” in your sweetest voice, somehow we all develop expert-level hiding skills and become instantly, urgently busy 👀😂

You truly are the glue that holds everything together — and we’d be lost without you.

This week (and every week), we’re so grateful for everything you do. 💕
