This magnificent Osprey was very kindly rescued and brought in to us last week by Michael Hindson after being found in a disheveled and weak state in a local park.
Thankfully, following advice from ourselves he carefully brought her to the Practice. (We did need to recover from the initial shock of such a relatively rare bird being found locally!). We are delighted to report that she is recovering well and has begun her rehabilitation and will hopefully be flying again in a more suitable location.
As a protected species and relatively rare Ospreys are tagged with a closed ring whilst in the nest under license. This meant that we could check records to find that she is a 6 year old female originally from the south of Scotland.
We will endeavour to provide an update on her release in due course.
