The all new Hardscape Compound by "Moss" makes creating dramatic aquascapes really easy! Build your design and simply plug the compound into the gaps and drip a few drops of their welding glue onto the media and it sets almost instantly. The compound is available in a range of colours, we went for grey as it blends seamlessly with mountain rock.

Keep your aquarium healthier and more stable with Fishkeeper Crystal Max Biological Filter Media.

Designed with high-surface-area porous ceramic cylinders, Crystal Max provides the ideal environment for beneficial bacteria to thrive. These bacteria play a vital role in breaking down harmful ammonia and nitrite, helping maintain long-term water quality and a healthier aquarium ecosystem.

Suitable for tropical and coldwater aquariums, Crystal Max works perfectly in external filters and built-in weir filter systems. It also comes supplied in a convenient storage jar with a free filter media bag included.

Key benefits:
• High-quality ceramic biological media
• Encourages beneficial bacteria growth
• Supports the biological filtration cycle
• Helps reduce ammonia and nitrite
• Long-lasting and easy to use
• Suitable for most aquarium filters
• Includes free filter media bag

Usage tip:
For best results, use alongside mechanical and chemical filtration media. Avoid replacing all biological media at once to preserve established bacteria colonies.

Available now in-store and online.

A new proposal being discussed in the UK could significantly change the future of fishkeeping.

This proposal centres on a ‘positive list’ system, in which only a limited number of approved species would be allowed to be kept, sold, or traded. While the intention is to improve animal welfare, there are growing concerns within the industry about the potential unintended consequences.

Industry experts, including the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association (OATA), warn that this approach could:

• Restrict fishkeeping to a very small number of species
• Exclude many commonly kept fish simply due to a lack of available data, rather than any proven risk
• Create more welfare issues, rather than solving them

At present, there is no clear evidence that a positive list system would improve animal welfare outcomes.

This is an important moment for fishkeepers, hobbyists, and businesses to have their voices heard.
