Kennel Cough is a respiratory infection that causes a dry hacking cough in dogs that can last for several weeks. In a similar way to human colds, it is caused by a number of different bacteria and viruses.
It can spread rapidly through:
➡Airborne droplets
➡Nose-to-nose contact
➡Shared items like toys, bedding, and water bowls
Symptoms:
➡Forceful, dry 'hacking' or 'honking' cough that sounds like something is stuck in the throat
➡Gagging, retching, or bringing up mild phlegm
➡ Sneezing, runny nose, or eye discharge
➡Mid to high temperature
➡Mild lethargy or low fever in some cases
If you suspect your dog may be suffering from Kennel Cough, keep them isolated and contact your vet for advice.
Keep your pets and others safe and stop the spread 🙏🏼
