One of the questions I’m asked quite often is, “Can you recommend somewhere for daycare or boarding?”

Without hesitation, my answer is always Doodles Dog Den. 🐾

Finding someone you trust to care for your dog is a huge decision, and I genuinely wouldn’t recommend anywhere that I didn’t believe offered the very best. The love, care, and attention every dog receives at Doodles Dog Den is second to none. It’s a true home-from-home where dogs can relax, play, make friends, and enjoy themselves while their owners are away.

As someone who works with dogs every day, I know how important it is to leave them somewhere they feel safe, happy, and loved. That’s exactly what Doodles Dog Den provides. To me, it’s nothing short of doggy heaven.

I’m so lucky to be part of a community of local businesses that genuinely put dogs first, and Doodles Dog Den is one I’m always happy to recommend.

Community is at the heart of everything we do, so I’m delighted to be supporting the High Halden Village Fair this Saturday.

Grass Awn Alert! Protect Your Pup This Summer

After every walk, take a couple of minutes to give your dog a thorough check. Grass awns (sometimes called grass seeds) may look harmless, but these tiny, barbed seeds can burrow into your dog’s skin, ears, eyes, nose, paws, and even between their toes, causing painful infections and, in some cases, requiring veterinary treatment.

👀 Be sure to check:
• Between the toes and paw pads
• Inside and around the ears
• Around the eyes
• Around the nose
• Under the armpits and groin
• Through the coat, especially if your dog has long or curly fur

⚠️ Watch out for signs such as:
• Excessive licking or chewing at a paw
• Head shaking or scratching at the ears
• Sneezing repeatedly
• Swelling or redness
• Sudden limping

Regular grooming and a quick post-walk inspection can make all the difference in catching grass awns before they become a serious problem.

First groom at Kirby’s for little Plumb & Crumble

These two adorable miniature dachshunds arrived feeling a little nervous and unsure,  but after plenty of patience, cuddles, and gentle reassurance, they slowly came out of their shells once they realised I was a friend. 

Their owner wanted to keep them looking as natural as possible, so this groom was all about enhancing their gorgeous coats with minimal scissoring.They enjoyed a double shampoo, nourishing conditioner, Blueberry face wash and a leave-in keratin treatment to leave their coats feeling extra soft, silky, and shiny.
