Two cockerels have been dumped in Boulmer. A gentleman is trying to catch them to transport them to us but it not chicken savvy. Can anyone help him catch them?

(we can’t get up there due to work for the next few days at least!)

They can then be kept here until homes are found❤️

Thank you to all our rehomers today! 🐓

We saved 89 caged hens and 1 beautiful, gentle cockerel.

A big thanks to our new volunteer Bev, helping catch the girls 🥰 and to Becky for delivering them🌸

Sorry if you missed out- a smaller farm and a big wait list meant no advertising. The best way to make sure you can collect hens at our next rehome is to go on our waiting list by filling out the reservation form now: https://freshstartforhens.co.uk/rehome
You will be notified when we have a confirmed date.

Our next rehome is most likely late November 😊

⭐️Nell⭐️

Can you offer Nell a peaceful retirement?

Nell was kept back from our last rehome with a small prolapse which has been treated and not popped out since, including when she lays. She is now bored in our poorly coop and needs a free range home!

She is very inquisitive and friendly and would suit a calm and/or smaller friendly flock. A slow introduction would be required.

If you are already rehoming this weekend, she could buddy up!

Please message the page if you can offer her a home (home check photos and £2.75 FSFH donation apply).

Any issues and we would always help/ take her back.

Thank you so much to our lovely rehomers, we saved another 145 little lives and 2 boys!

We picked the hens up at 4am on Saturday from the midlands dropping at Middlesbrough and Ashington on our way home. The girls were pretty scruffy and the farm had hundreds more than expected 😮. Thank you again to all our rehomers especially our last minute rehomers, we saved an extra 40 girls!

It was lovely chatting to everyone on Saturday and I love hearing how your girls are doing 🐓

We had a great team of volunteers at home waiting for us, a big thanks to Dan, Lucas, Bert, Helen, Rosie and Will⭐️

We should be opening again in October - reserve now so you don’t miss out - the waiting lists have been very long recently ❤️

Our Facebook is the best place to keep up to date with future rehomes.

Wolfie is a 16-week old cockerel. He is looking for a permanent forever home with a small flock of his own. He is of Silver Campine ancestry and is of relatively small size. He is used to free-ranging regularly. He has been regularly handled and is friendly.

We are located in the North East (County Durham). I am willing to travel a fair distance to rehome him - if it means he is going to the right permanent home.

If you are interested in Wolfie please comment and the owner will be in touch with you.

💛71 beautiful girls saved today💛

It was great (a lot calmer!!) to have a smaller rehome and enjoy watching the hens head to their new homes. Thank you very much to all our lovely rehomers, these girls are very lucky… I think they will be very entertaining!

Also thank you to our volunteer driver, who drove these girls all the way up from near London😮

We will hopefully be rehoming again in August, you can reserve girls now and be notified when we have a confirmed date🐓

If you are collecting hens today, please come 30 minutes later than your allotted time- the hens are slightly late due to traffic and will need a break after a long journey!
