The first 2 minutes are more intense.

Once we get pass that then your dog can make more rational decisions. But it's hard to practice when mostly dogs move away (especially wheb yours is barking)

Where has my puppy gone. She is amazing and crazy dog. Has relentless stamina and fun energy. Has us giggling daily. She will literally try to love you to death. A life guard in training but mostly the best companion for my husband who always wanted his own dog. She matches his energy pretty well!
Still cant believe the way how much M***a has excepted and enjoyed her! They really do love eachother.

We celebrated by doing 6 miles bull crag in Kielder. She was off lead for 99% of it, we had the best day then came home for a big sleep.

Last weekends camping trip.
Remember is your doing lots extra with your dogs this holiday. They need a recharge too, as over tired can add behaviour.

Realality of reactive dog training is that's its exhausting.

Sometimes feels relentless but you can get it better.
Its not just training that counts its consistancy and strategy. Its also not pain and corrections. No need add aggression to aggression. They need guidance not force.

Whats the hardest part of having a reactive dog?

Stay and search games at the Dog field. Great way to build impulse control with your dogs.
If your dog cant stay, maybe someone could hold them for you? Or dog goes in the car while you stash the item.
Or maybe break it down into stages.
Build the stay and the search separately. Reduce the distance and duration and build slowly.

Dog not bothered by a toy then you could up food (but try and make sure they do find it and dont leave any for the next dog coming in might have allergies, yes i had to cover that point).

My dogs love this game it is literally their favourite thing to do. Extra points if one dog can hold the stay while the other runs.

Train with food has a bad rep but only for the people that dont understand what it does. And its NOT riding if you do right!!

Resource guarding is a big deal.
There no need to be sticking your hand in your dogs bowl but you can do this.
Building so your approach to your dog while eating is a good thing not threatening.
