5 DAYS TIL SUMMER BOOKING OPEN! 🎉

Did you know we only have 10 hotel suites?

That means we get to know your dogs, the dogs get to know our staff, we can remember the little details about your dog and who their besties are without having to look it up.

It means that your dog is getting to know our small team and we can notice the little changes in behaviour, health, or any other little things we can report to you, because of the intimate relationship we can build with your dog.

You are not paying for dog boarding, you’re paying for an exclusive service, limited to 10 rooms, where your dog gets care and attention that they deserve.

🎉 FINALISTS IN 2 CATEGORIES!!!! 🐾

In our industry, there is one award I have really, really wanted - the Pet Industry Federation Awards.

They’ve been a goal since the day I put planning in. I’ve told anyone who would listen 😂

And now…

⭐️ WE’VE BEEN SHORTLISTED AS FINALISTS FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!!! ⭐️

I’m absolutely blown away 🥹

To say I’m proud is an understatement, especially after everything the last 12 months has thrown at me health-wise.

There’s some huge reasons the hotel has continued to thrive: My incredible NDH team, the support of Nick and the constant cheerleading from Hollie & Grace. ❤️

The staff continually step up and go above and beyond, not just for the dogs, but for me too. I genuinely couldn’t do this without them.

And today I want to talk about one of them specifically…

➡️ Lauren Robinson

Lauren worked in a completely different industry when we opened. She got in touch about working with us, along with approximately 200 other people 🙈 but she kept following up until eventually I agreed to talk to her!

Fast forward to now and Lauren has become a core member of our team, and I’m genuinely not sure how I would have made it through the last year without her.

She is an incredibly fast learner, has a natural ability with the dogs and is sensible, kind, positive and an absolute grafter. When I was really poorly, she stepped up massively taking on much of the admin, helping carry the workload and even helping me at home when I needed it.

It’s hard to believe she only entered the pet industry when she joined us.

So I nominated her for Newcomer of the Year…

⭐️ AND SHE’S BEEN SHORTLISTED TOO!!! ⭐️

I am ridiculously proud of Lauren, but also of our entire team. Lauren has earned her individual recognition, while our hotel finalist place belongs to all of us collectively.

Now we wait until 5th November to find out if this might finally be our year 🤞🥹

Congratulations Lauren, and congratulations Team NDH.

Whatever happens in November, getting both of these finalist places feels pretty bloody special. ❤️🐾

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 EDUCATIONAL VISITS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Yesterday evening, after all the doggies were tucked up after their evening meals, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 16–21-year-olds from Wales who are involved in the farming industry, as part of Farming Connect’s Junior Agri Academy study tour 🌾🐾

Having travelled all the way from Wales to Northumberland, it was a real privilege that Northumberland Dog Hotel was chosen as one of the businesses for them to visit and learn from.

We spent the evening talking all things farm diversification, from the very first idea for the Dog Hotel, through planning, investment and building the business, to marketing, growth and some of the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

Northumberland Dog Hotel was created right here on our family farm, so it was particularly lovely to share our journey with a group of young people who are thinking about the future of modern farming!

It’s great to see them thinking about the opportunities that can exist alongside traditional agriculture, in this modern world where diversification is becoming a necessity in Farming.

It’s a privilege to now have groups travelling from across the country to learn about what we’ve built.

we’ve now had visits from groups from every part of the United Kingdom.

Each one makes me feel incredibly grateful and proud of what we’ve done here.

If we can inspire one person to chase their dreams, or improve something in the Pet industry, then it’s worth it. 💫

A brilliant group with some great questions and ideas. Thank you to Farming Connect and the Junior Agri Academy for making us part of your tour, we hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we enjoyed having you! 💙

A fabulous group of bright, polite, respectful young adults.

💫 Always Improving 💫

Here at NDH, we LOVE improving what we do and what we have!

This 32ft portacabin has been here since 2017 when it became my temporary dog grooming salon.

Now that we have our Dog Salon based in the hotel building, this is used as a scent school room, aka Bruno’s enrichment room!

However, portacabins are not the prettiest of things and for YEARS I have wanted it to have a glow up and now to match our beautiful hotel.

While I have been away at a doggy business conference in Milton Keynes, builder Dean Keeney has been making a start!

I can’t wait to get it finished, get the doors done and make it a beautiful place for your dogs to spend time, both inside and out!

I love it 🤍

When your children love dogs as much as you do, and you can feel it 🖤

Some things can’t be taught, like the calmness we can bring a dog, or the trust and connection we can build almost instantly, like it’s a reflex, like a connection of the soul, and some of these things are just built-in to us.
