Hope all our pups are staying well in the
heat it has been so hot. Apologies to people I have rescheduled due to heat last couple of weeks it’s much safer to groom dogs when it isn’t so hot.
Just another couple of months till we start saying hello again to firework season. For dogs you feel maybe be a bit wary of fireworks it may be a good idea to start trying to desensitising them now. There are some good resources online where you can play firework noises start quietly and eventually increase volume between now and bonfire season. Remember to reward your pups 💕

A few weeks ago my dog Norman achieved his intermediate award at Take the Lead - Dog training Sunderland. They train at Houghton miners welfare hall and Steve is a brilliant trainer. Would well recommend if anyone was looking for puppy classes or just some extra training for your dog

Back at work this morning.
Last week was hot hot hot looks like I decided to take the correct week to take annual leave as it was obviously too hot to groom dogs.
Over the summer I do try to adapt grooming to the weather. I may suggest just bathing dogs in cool water and drying using no heat, I may preclip dogs just so they aren’t spending as long in the van however sometimes it is so hot I need to suggest rearranging grooms especially among elderly dogs, large breeds, brachycephalic dogs (dogs with short faces) to a cooler date. If I do decide to rearrange grooms this is always in the safety and interest of your dog I won’t risk the health of a dog by grooming in unsafe conditions but will take one day at a time.

Hiya, just wanted to update people as I know back in March my little poodle Bella broke her leg and needed surgery requiring me to reschedule a few customers. I know people have been so kind to keep asking about her. It been a long 12 week recovery but she has finally been discharged from Bridge Referrals and is allowed to go about her normal everyday life. She celebrated her vet discharge with a couple of agility jumps 💕

Had Bear and Boo this morning for their regular monthly bath, dry, carding and deshedding. Amazing how much hair a little dog can shed in just 4 weeks. Boo also had a similar size pile of hair unfortunately I threw the hair away before I took her picture. Love these 2 pampered pooches 💕
