⭐Meet the newest member of our growing team⭐
Hi I’m Emily, Registered Veterinary Nurse 💉
⭐ I qualified in September last year. I have recently joined the team and I’m settling in well. I’m enjoying the new environment and looking forward to growing my career with the team.
⭐What do you enjoy most about your role? What I enjoy most about my role is the hands-on patient care. I have a particular passion for anaesthesia, as I really enjoy the responsibility of closely monitoring patients, anticipating their needs and making sure they are safe, stable and comfortable throughout their procedure. I also love caring for patients during recovery and seeing them wake up safely and comfortably. Every patient is different, which keeps the role interesting and rewarding.
⭐Do you have any pets of your own? Yes, two cats, two Springer Spaniels and four bantam chickens 🐣
⭐Do you have a special interest within veterinary nursing? I have developed a keen interest in nurse clinics, particularly weight management clinics. I find this area especially rewarding because weight management is often a gradual process, allowing you to build a strong relationship with both the owner and their pet and support them throughout their journey. Seeing a patient achieve a healthy weight, become more active and ultimately experience an improved quality of life is incredibly rewarding and gives me a great sense of job satisfaction.
⭐What’s one thing you love about working with animals? I love caring for animals and making a difference to their health and wellbeing. It makes the job very rewarding.
⭐What’s your favourite animal and why? I love cows because they’re cute, generally gentle, and just make me happy 🐄🤍
⭐Tea or coffee during a busy shift?
Forget tea and coffee—I run on juice. And luckily, I’m not the one making all those hot drinks! 😉
⭐What’s a fun fact about you outside of work? I have large animal experience, hence the love for cows. A hobby of mine is kayaking which the dogs also enjoy.
⭐What’s your favourite thing about the team here? I already feel very much part of the team. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive already.
⭐If you weren’t a veterinary nurse, what would you be doing? Probably something animal related, however I always wanted to be a midwife growing up.
⭐What’s the best part about caring for patients? The best part is knowing you’re making a real difference to animals’ lives and helping them feel safe, comfortable and cared for.
⭐Dogs, cats, or something more exotic? Dogs always, couldn’t imagine life without them 🫶🏻
