Petasfield Stables

We offer tuition for beginners all the way through to the more advanced rider. Group or private lessons are available (waiting list currently closed). We can help you learn in a professional yet friendly and fun atmosphere. Here at Petasfield Riding School we also provide the chance to learn horse care through being a Pony Club Centre and also offering BHS care stages training

Day 4 | Pony Club Summer Camp
Our final day and as always we had our games day. We started with our ‘anything goes’ groom which was highly competitive with all teams wanting to grab as many points as possible. Riding was mounted games, which saw some epic speed and great riding! A lunchtime visit from Jazz and her icecream van went down very well as always. 😋🍦Finishing the week with our traditional water games, with some new ones introduced this year, followed by the water fight! 💦With everyone suitably soaked we sat down for the last day of awards. The team standings were:
1st - Group 3 (a final day surge from them gave them the victory!) 🏆
2nd Group 2
3rd Group 1
Most Improved went to Ida on Elmo 🙌
Petasfield Ambassador went to Flori ❤️
Star of the week went to Ophelia! 🏆

Day 3 | Pony Club Summer Camp
It was Jumping day today which began with a turnout groom - some beautiful plaiting from everyone and all the ponies looked super smart. Everyone jumped really well despite some of the ponies having other ideas and really improved from start to finish of the session. The morning activity was making rosettes which seemed to go down very well and we had some lovely creations. The afternoon activity was The Floor is Lava version 3. It involved a lot of running, so apparently not the favourite version! 😂 Can’t believe it’s our final day tomorrow.

Day 2 | Pony Club Summer Camp
It was Western day today - ye ha! Absolutely loved the western plaits and with the nose bands off ready for riding some of our horses really did suit the Western look. A trail ride out in the field with Western stirrups and teaching the horses to neck rein was followed by barrel racing in the school. The afternoon action was all on barrels, balance and movement to see which team could hold on the longest! A bit of tug of war to test the core strength too. A great day! 🤠🌵🏜️

Day 1 (Part 2)| Pony Club Summer Camp
It was Circus Day today and we definitely made the most of this theme! Amazing creativity in the grooming, our circus ponies were ready for the riding action of drill riding with no hands! Some fun without stirrups too saw some superb riding. Big well done to all. The afternoon action was circus skills and vaulting - first on barrels and then onto trying some things out on the horses! Shadow, Zack and Duke were total legends letting everyone stand up and backflip off them. Brilliant start to the week. 🎪🤹‍♂️🎠

Orange = turmeric and cinnamon
Light blue = apple juice
Big blue = salt
Big black = redbush tea
Little black = bicarbonate of soda
Light green = pony nuts
Red = apple likit
Dark green = camomile

They have carrot ice cubes coming this evening from Scarlet and Cecily!
