🐾 Meet Orla!

Orla is one of our lovely Veterinary Nurses at our Cobham branch. She’s an amazing nurse who always takes pride in a job well done and brings so much care to everything she does. 💜

After blowing us all away with how brilliantly she trained her own puppy, Orla was the perfect person to take the lead on our Puppy Playschool classes! 🐶

We’re very lucky to have her as part of the Beech House team! 🐾

🐾 Meet Rob!

Rob has been a valued member of the Beech House Vets team for many years. He’s a highly skilled surgeon and is the man behind our laparoscopic spays!

Rob has fully embraced being part of our very girly team — even if that means being subjected to a little light-hearted bullying from the nurses from time to time! 😂

We’re very lucky to have him as part of the Beech House family. 💜

Meet Bobbie 🧅🐶

Just before we closed last night, Bobbie decided onion would make the perfect evening snack. Unfortunately, onions are toxic to dogs and can damage red blood cells, potentially causing anaemia. 🩸

Because symptoms can be delayed, acting quickly is key. When appropriate, immediate emesis (making them vomit) can remove the onion before it’s digested and absorbed — so contacting your vet promptly is really important.

Thankfully, Bobbie was treated quickly and made a rather impressive deposit in the emesis bowl! 😂

Do we think he regrets his decisions? Not one bit. 😅

POV: Spend the day with Chucky at our Cobham branch 🐾💚

Chucky is a Norwegian Forest Cat who came to see us for a sedated ultrasound, X-rays and FNA (fine needle aspiration) samples. Throughout his visit, our team made sure he was as comfortable and relaxed as possible every step of the way. 🩺✨

He was an absolute superstar from start to finish, and we loved having him in our care. Wishing this handsome boy a smooth and speedy recovery, Chucky! ❤️

🚨 Not everything your dog swallows needs surgery!

Meet Sib, a 7-year-old English Bull Terrier with pica—a condition that causes dogs to eat non-food items. After swallowing a poo bag and multiple pieces of plastic, our team was able to safely remove them using an endoscope, avoiding the need for invasive surgery.

If your dog has swallowed something they shouldn’t, don’t wait to see what happens. Contact your vet as soon as possible, as early treatment can make all the difference.

Has your dog ever eaten something unexpected? Let us know in the comments! 🐶💚

🌾 Grass seeds may be small, but they can cause big problems for our four-legged friends.

Join Rolo as he has a grass seed safely removed by our veterinary team. Grass seeds can work their way into your dog’s paws, ears, eyes, nose or skin, causing pain, swelling and infection if left untreated.

Keep an eye out for these signs:
🐾 Excessive licking or chewing of the paw
👂 Head shaking or scratching at the ears
👃 Sneezing or nosebleeds
👁️ Squinting or watery eyes
🐶 Sudden limping or swelling

If you think your dog has picked up a grass seed, don’t wait—get in touch with your vet as soon as possible. Early treatment can prevent more serious complications.

Have you checked your dog’s paws after today’s walk? 💚

🐾Meet Keira!

Keira is one of our Kennel Care Assistants and Receptionists here at Beech House Vets. You’ll usually spot her at our Cobham branch, but she’s recently moved back to Hersham, where she’s getting even more hands-on behind the scenes.

Whether she’s welcoming clients at reception, caring for our patients, or supporting the team wherever she’s needed, Keira always brings a friendly face and a passion for animal care. As a future Vet Nurse, she’s always keen to learn and continues to build her knowledge every day.

We’re incredibly lucky to have Keira on board! 💜
