1st Championships of the year and he smashed it 🎉🎉

On Friday we trucked down to for the AE champs representing

A perfect journey there with time to chill ready for the course walk. Having seen the pics online before I was only really concerned about the ditch and the water given last time I was there with Vic that’s as far as we got!

I shouldn’t of worried 🤩 Apart from being a grade A ninja 🥷 in the warm up as Bee was there (read on to that what you will but I was seriously regretting my life choices for pretty much all of it!)

Then we went in and he was a pro, clear round the SJ if a little backward by me and then slightly surprised we were then jumping XC fences! One and two were a little sticky and backwards from me and then we found our groove.

Trotted in to the water and cantered out and we were away! Saw a flyer at fence 5, wiggle back to the water and confidently canter through and over the corner. Fence 8 on the angle, wobbly to the step but up and over and then gave him a good straight line to the ditch and trotted, safe to say it wasn’t huge but he hopped over, down the back and over 11. 12 was a nice double, he did look at the first which caught me by surprise but flew over the 2nd on the 5 strides I had walk. I saw a flyer at 13 but he had locked on and was really going 🎉🎉 And then the Joker - a lovely upright plank 🤦‍♀️ I left it to him as either was we would of probably had it down 😂 and we did. Gutted but so so pleased.

As it turns out even if I had of cleared the Joker I would of still walked away without a frilly 🏵️ as we were super close to getting a speeding ticket so would of ended up 12th 🏎️

To finish the day he got a lovely sloppy Restore and Perform mash 🥰

I would love to event him this season after that but I have to look after his feet so unless we have the wettest summer he will be sticking to the arena stuff.

Just a quick note to all my clients due to the recent flu outbreaks locally and having my own horses and clients at multiple yard I’m ask everyone that if they have any concerns with there horse or horses on the yard that I don’t attend until any they are either symptom free or have no temperature 🤒

A great day jumping at Allenshill to round off a fun filled weekend with the boys.

Cabby jumped a fab clear on the 80cm for the win 🥇 and 1 down in the 90 for 6th. Super speedy without trying in both classes and the smoothest 90cm to date 🎉

Our dressage pictures from Sunday, definitely lacking match practise but two tests remembered with 🎉

We rode novice 2 and 6. We were far better prepared for 6 than the last time we rode it and came away with 67% with a huge amount still to improve but going the right way. Just need to keep chipping away from now until August 🤩

We rode novice 2 with a whip to help me back up my leg as I do in lessons and our warm up - safe to say we won’t be trying that again for a while 🤣 It was like someone had put a 🚀 up his bum and I had very little whoa and a lot of go 😳 He used to be the same jumping and when I moved my hands too much so I’m hoping in time he will settle to it in a test.

🦄 Happy 24th Birthday to the most spoilt ex race horse on the yard 🦄

With his extensive list of nick names from The Diva, Mole and Princess to some that we won’t publish 🤣 that are to do with his inability to be left on the yard without causing chaos when the big boys got to a party or on a hack 🙄

15 years ago tomorrow he retired and we have had so many memories in those years as well as the 5 before that when he was in training 🤩

He’s competed in Eventing, Showjumping, Dressage, In hand and Ridden showing and then finally TREC and had won doing all of them 🥰

Not sure we will have another 20 years together but he definitely doesn’t ask 24 🤣

Bumble Bees turn tonight to transform from Cob back to TB 🤣

There was only so much extra fluff we could put up with going in to competition season 🤣

I used the KMC+ with a number 2 guard for the heals all round and Pro levelling knife on his mane.
