EXLER CANINE SHEPHERD ONLY GROUP CLASS

Built for the breed. Designed to develop their potential.

For German, Belgian, Dutch and other shepherd breeds, this class explores the natural instincts, genetics and working abilities that make these dogs so unique.

We’ll focus on three key areas,

SCENT WORK — Harness natural scenting ability through structured searches, building focus, confidence and mental stimulation.

COMPETITION STYLE OBEDIENCE — Develop precision, engagement, responsiveness and control beyond everyday obedience.

PROTECTION WORK — Explore drive, confidence and control, with demonstrations featuring a variety of dogs to help you understand your own dog’s potential.

Whether you’re an experienced handler or simply want to learn more about your shepherd, this is an opportunity to understand your dog and what they’re capable of.

📸 Professional photography and videography by Maz from Moss Photographic to capture all shots of your dogs.

Also connect with like minded shepherd owners and become part of a community that shares your passion.

Three disciplines. One working mindset. A class built around the shepherd.

Frankie’s back for his second day train with us. We’ve already seeing some great progress.

He’s growing in confidence, becoming more comfortable in different environments and, most importantly, improving his neutrality around other dogs.

One of the biggest advantages of our Day Train is that Frankie gets to experience real life, not just a training setup.

And yes… that includes having my own dogs around him.

Because genuine environmental exposure means experiencing the sights, sounds, movement and distractions that your dog is actually going to encounter in everyday life.

There’s a big difference between simply having another dog present and training around a genuinely neutral dog. A dog sat on a place board while you train isn’t the same as working around dogs that are freely moving, walking, training and going about their business. That’s real world exposure teaching Frankie to stay neutral around dogs in everyday situations, not just in a controlled obedience setup.

Not every trainer has the ability or the setup to have multiple neutral, trained dogs around during a Day Train. It’s something we can offer, and it’s a valuable part of Frankie’s development.

Slowly building confidence, teaching neutrality and preparing him for real life not just the training field.

🐾 DALMATIAN-SPECIFIC GROUP CLASS!

We’re excited to introduce a brand new service here at Exler Canine breed specific group training classes!

And we’re kicking things off with one of the most unique breeds out there… Dalmatians!

This isn’t just your standard group class. Yes, we’ll be covering all the foundations you’d expect, including:

🔹 Place training
🔹 Lead walking & engagement
🔹 Recall
🔹 Marker words
🔹 Impulse control
🔹 Obedience & focus
🔹 And much more!

But we’ll also be looking at the things that make Dalmatians… well, Dalmatians!

We’ll work on breed specific challenges, behaviours and training considerations, helping you better understand why your Dalmatian does what they do and how to get the best out of them.

The class also gives you the opportunity to train alongside multiple Dalmatians, allowing you to learn through observation, see how different dogs respond to the same situations, and take away ideas you can use with your own dog.

And perhaps just as importantly it’s a chance to meet other Dalmatian owners, share experiences, build connections and become part of a community of people who understand exactly what it’s like to live with one of these spotted lunatics.

📸 BONUS: Professional photographer & videographer Maz from Moss Photographic will also be joining us to capture your dogs in action, with individual action photos AND a video of the class included in the price!

If you have a Dalmatian or know someone with a Dalmatian please tag them.

Dm us to secure your spot.

Saturday the 19th at 10am at Exler canine.

One year ago, we made the decision to move Exler Canine from Oxford to Hemel Hempstead.

Leaving behind an established business to start again in a completely new area was a huge leap of faith. It’s exciting, but if we’re honest, it’s also pretty daunting. You never know how long it’ll take to build trust, meet new people, and establish yourself all over again.

Thankfully, from day one, Hemel welcomed us with open arms, and we’ve been fortunate enough to hit the ground running.

Over the last 12 months we’ve built thriving group classes, worked with countless owners through our 1-2-1 sessions, welcomed dogs onto our Collect & Train and Day Train programmes, and grown an amazing Working Dogs Club.

Most importantly, we’ve had the privilege of meeting some incredible people and helping over 500 dogs in our very first year here. That number still blows us away.

To every single client who’s trusted us with their dog, shared our name, recommended us to friends and family, or supported us in any way thank you. You’ve made this first year more successful than we could have imagined.

Here’s to another year of changing lives, building better relationships between dogs and their owners, and continuing to grow the Exler Canine community.
