AUGUST SHOW UPDATE 10/08

The DDRC committee has today made the decision to cancel the upcoming August show due to current ground conditions.

Following the latest weather forecast updates, insufficient rainfall is expected before the show date, and the ground is unlikely to be suitable for the event to safely proceed as planned.
Horse welfare and competitor safety remains the priority behind this decision.

The next show on 27th September will currently run as planned. All August pre-entries will be rolled over; if you would prefer a refund, please contact us directly.
Ring 5 dressage will be run at the September show, subject to sufficient entries.

UPDATE: The recipient of the rosettes has been identified, this was a genuine mistake. Please no nasty comments - that is never the intention of our posts.

A polite note to the competitor who it may concern from today, if you were unhappy with your second place result and did not wish to keep your rosettes, in future, please respectfully return them to the office for us to reuse. Show rosettes cost our club £4000 a year. We do not appreciate finding them in our showground rubbish bins.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

This Sunday's DDRC show is fast approaching!
We are seeking volunteers to assist the committee with showground set-up tomorrow (Saturday 18th).

Tasks include some manual handling - unloading jump/office trailers, preparing the rings, and setting up jumps.

We are offering a FREE CLASS ENTRY or LUNCH ON US at Sunday's (19th) show, as a gratitude to anyone who can help out.

CLASS PRE-ENTRY NUMBERS AND TIMES - SUNDAY 19TH JULY

Please read:-

🐴 Times below are estimated ‘Will Not Start Before’ times. They are approximate only and subject to change with on the day entries.
🐴 Entries are available on the day (cash and card accepted). Please use Horse Monkey for card entries to ease queues at the show office. Class bookings are still open online up until the class start time, pre-booking is advised.
🐴 Please see our ‘Biosecurity’ post and ensure all guidance is followed. Horse passports and vaccination records must be available on request and produced when booking classes.
🐴 Please arrive in plenty of time for your class and closely listen for tannoy announcements.
🐴 Please advise us as soon as possible if you are aware of a class clash with your entries, we will do our best to accommodate.

PRE-ENTRIES CLOSING TONIGHT!

A reminder that pre-entries close at 23:59 tonight (15/07) and this Sunday is the last show this year for Ring 5 Dressage classes.
This show is a dressage qualifier show for Hickstead Sunshine Tour and Equine Grassroots Championships 2026.
Please note, Dressage is by pre-entry only.

Ring 2 - Class 21 Veterans (In-Hand) - currently has 0 pre-entries, if this remains by Saturday 18th, this class will not run on Sunday. All other classes currently have sufficient entries to run.
