What Dogs Want Professional dog grooming including Hydrobath washing, clipping, thinning/sc******ng, nails and ears It is all about "What Dogs Want".

My name is Claire, I have completed a City & Guilds Level 3 in Dog Grooming. This covered clipping, sc******ng, bathing, nails, basic first aid and some handstripping/carding. I live locally to Heighington with my family and we have a Cockerpoo, Barney, who needs regular grooming. Being a typical Cockerpoo, he has sponges for feet when it comes to water and mud! My salon is dog-friendly and safe, I do the groom at the dog's pace and consider their needs.

Yesterday was my last grooming day in the salon…
I want to thank you all so much for all your lovely cards with such kind words, gifts and flowers.
At times, as many of you saw I have been so overwhelmed and tears took over…
The dogs have been so good and put up with me getting emotional half way thru a groom and having a cuddle with them… we had a look out the window together and watched the birds, while I got myself together… and carried on.

It has been an amazing 13 years, ups and downs, but a blast.
Your loyalty, friendship and trust in me to groom your dogs will always stay with me and I hope to get to see you all again soon.

I can finally announce, as it has now been confirmed that Laura from Pawfect Finish, is moving into the salon as of the end of June.
Laura is a lovely lady and works very similarly to me, & got 17 years grooming experience..

It’s been a while since I have posted on here but I don’t have the need too.
I have seen or been in touch with most of you now, (regular clients) but I have the sad news that I am closing ‘what dogs want’ after 13 years of being in the village.

A very difficult decision and one I have not taken lightly.
As a lot of you know a few years ago I was poorly and this has taken a toll on my body, with the affects of a physical job too, it is time to look after myself a bit better.
For that reason, I will be closing on the 11th June.

I want to thank you all for your custom, loyalty and friendships.
Your dogs are a big part of my life, my grooming family as I call it, and I will not forget them all.
When you are with them every 4 to 16 weeks thru the year, depending on their grooming regime, and working in such close proximity of them you get to know them so well, all their little quirks and needs, what they like and don’t like.
So a big thank you to all the dogs..
My diary is still full right up until the end, and for that I have you to thank you for.

I will see you all, I am sure around the village with my new little boy, who loves to stop and say hello and search your pockets for treats…###
