This little livewire is Daisy the Border Terrier who arrived full of beans, cuddles, and cheeky energy from the moment she hopped onto the table. She made the whole groom feel like a game — and her transformation is just gorgeous.

Handstripping really lets a Border Terrier’s true colour shine. Once the old, blown coat is removed, the fresh new coat underneath comes through looking richer, deeper, and beautifully vibrant. Daisy’s before‑and‑after photos show it perfectly: the faded top coat replaced with that classic, warm Border Terrier tone that handstripping is known for.

It’s one of the reasons owners love keeping their Borders in a proper strip — the coat stays healthy, the texture stays correct, and the colour looks incredible.

A healthy, well‑maintained coat helps double‑coated dogs stay cool by allowing air to reach the skin and letting trapped heat escape. When the undercoat becomes matted, airflow is blocked, heat builds up quickly, and the risk of heat stress rises. Keeping the coat brushed out — especially during shedding season — supports your dog’s natural cooling system. And if they do get too warm, gently hosing with cool water for just two minutes can bring their temperature down fast and safely.
