Proper substrate choice is so improtant to captive reptiles.

It not only allows digging, foraging and proper support but also aids in thermoregulation. This baby tortoise is exhibiting a perfectly normal behaviour and half burying itself in slightly damp substrate to manage its own body temperature.

Rehoming Admissions Open Again - for now.

Some of you may have noticed the odd new rehome animal appearing in store again since we totally stopped intakes except emergencies.

We are now accepting non-emergency animals again on a case by case basis, with restrictions on space, time and finances being considered before agreeing to an animal coming to us to find a home.

Several rehoming establishments are facing similar issues and we have to be very firm in the conviction that we cant help every animal, everytime but we will do our best.

If we cant take an animal we will ALWAYS offer alternative establishments to contact and will do our best to help you place an animal in need but we are not primarily a rescue/rehome so there is a set amount of spaces we will allocate to rehoming going forward.

We still have the Go Fund Me running for those that would like to support our rehoming efforts as every little bit of help goes a long way to keeping everything working as it should.
