Handsome Jerry the Staffie cross visited us for his grooming appointment today 🐾💙

Jerry can be a little apprehensive when he first arrives, but with plenty of patience, reassurance, and a gentle approach, he soon settles in and relaxes into his pamper session. We absolutely love watching his confidence grow each visit. 🥰

Staffies and Staffie crosses typically have short, smooth coats that are often considered low maintenance. However, they still benefit greatly from regular grooming! Their coats shed throughout the year, and a good bath, de-shed treatment, and thorough brush-through help remove loose hair, keep their skin healthy, and leave their coats looking glossy and feeling super soft. ✨

Jerry was an absolute star once he found his feet, and he left us looking smart, shiny, and smelling wonderful. Well done, Jerry – we can’t wait to see you again soon! 🐶❤️

Labrador brothers Oscar and Duke, who joined us for a much-needed de-shed session! 🐾🛁

It’s safe to say these two have very different opinions on grooming… 🤭

Duke isn’t exactly our biggest fan of bath time and prefers to battle the shower head, bite the water, and declare war on the dryer! Despite his dramatic protests, he was a very good boy and came out looking and feeling so much better. 💙

Oscar, on the other paw, absolutely loves being pampered. He soaked up every bit of attention and enjoyed his spa day from start to finish. ✨

Both boys received a thorough de-shed treatment, and we’re pretty sure Oscar left behind enough fur to make another Labrador… half a dog, at least! 😂🐶

Thank you, Oscar and Duke, for keeping us entertained and trusting us with your grooms. We can’t wait to see you both again! 🐕🐕

Today we had the pleasure of grooming beautiful Beaux, the young French Bulldog, and she was the perfect client! 🐾✨

Beaux absolutely aced her grooming appointment including nail trim. From start to finish, she was calm, confident, and an absolute superstar. 🌟

Beaux first visited us when she was just a tiny puppy and took part in our puppy introduction sessions. It’s so rewarding to see how much those early positive experiences have paid off, helping her feel comfortable and relaxed during her grooming appointments.

We’re so proud of you, Beaux! Thank you for being such a wonderful girl – we can’t wait to see you again soon for more pampering. 💕🐶

Otto the Staffordshire Bull Terrier came in for his groom today, and mum warned us that he’s currently embracing his teenage phase… and he certainly kept us on our toes! 🤣🐾

Today’s highlights included:
🚿 Attempting to attack the shower head & the shower water.
🫧 Trying to lick the shampoo off before we’d even finished
💨 Attempting to make a dramatic escape from the dryer
🧺 Challenging us to a game of tug of war with the towel

Otto has been a little more licky than usual and a bit nippy when excitement got the better of him – all part of navigating those adolescent doggy hormones and learning boundaries. Despite the chaos, he remained his lovable self, and once he’d had a tasty treat and a well-earned drink, he settled down beautifully while waiting for mum to collect him. ❤️

Teenage dogs can certainly test our patience, but they also keep us smiling! Well done, Otto – we’ll see you next time for another adventure at the salon! 🐶✂️✨

Look who came back to see us today… Teddy the Pomeranian! 🐾✨

Teddy visited another groomer for his last appointment, but today he was back at Poppy’s Pawfection for a well-deserved pamper session, and we were delighted to welcome him back! 💙

Pomeranians are a lively and affectionate breed, famous for their beautiful double coats. Their coat consists of a soft, dense undercoat and a longer outer coat that gives them that signature fluffy appearance. Regular grooming is essential to keep their coat free from tangles, reduce shedding, and maintain its gorgeous volume.

Like many dogs, Teddy can be a little sensitive when it comes to having his feet handled. Paw sensitivity is quite common and can make grooming around the feet a little challenging, so we always work patiently and gently, helping him feel as comfortable and confident as possible throughout his groom. 🐾

Teddy was a superstar today and left looking fluffy, fresh, and feeling fabulous!

Bailey the Cockapoo was in for his groom today, and what a handsome boy he is! 🐾✨

Cockapoos are a wonderful mix of Cocker Spaniel and Poodle, often inheriting a soft, wavy or curly coat that requires regular grooming to prevent tangles and matting. Keeping up with their grooming schedule helps keep their coat comfortable, healthy, and looking its best.

Bailey was a little overdue for his usual appointment this time, so Mum had been bravely tackling some face trims at home in the meantime… and let’s just say we could tell! We always appreciate the effort, though!

One thing Bailey isn’t quite convinced about is having his feet handled. Many dogs can be sensitive about their paws being touched, so we take our time, use plenty of reassurance, and work at a pace that helps them feel comfortable and safe throughout the groom. 💙

Despite his foot fussiness, Bailey did brilliantly and left looking fresh, tidy, and ready to show off his gorgeous Cockapoo curls again!
