New places bring new distractions! Dogs need the opportunity to practice skills in different environments in a positive way.

We’re building confidence through positive experiences and real-world training. 💚

Meet this lovely boy 🐾💚

Adolescence can bring big feelings! Excitement and frustration can build quickly, making it harder to disengage and settle.

We’re finding that balance: helping him feel more comfortable around distractions, rewarding calm choices and giving him outlets for his energy alongside enough rest.

That “off switch” isn’t a button it develops through support, practice and feeling safe enough to relax. 🌿

I read this quote and it stayed with me… 🤍

“Your pet is a chapter in your life, but in theirs, you’re their whole book.”

Make time for the sniffing, the play and the quiet cuddles. Offer patience when they struggle and kindness as they learn.

Let’s fill their pages with feeling safe, understood and loved, most of all enhance their wellbeing

🐾 You see a dog learning new skills… but you have NO idea of the journey behind them! 👀💚

They are proofing skills in different environments, building disengagement, recall and confidence around distractions.

But this is about SO much more than training! 🥹

Behind every successful response is a journey of understanding, patience, trust and behaviour change.

✨ All achieved through positive reinforcement, evidence-based behaviour modification and, most importantly, understanding the WHY behind the behaviour.

Because when we understand WHY a dog behaves the way they do, we can begin to change how they FEEL, not just what they DO. 💚

🎥 Her full journey is coming soon… and trust me, you won’t want to miss it!

What she’s overcome and where she is today might just surprise you! 🐶

Sometimes the biggest transformations aren’t the ones you can immediately see. 💚

🐾 Can your dog walk away from something they REALLY want? 👀

Today we’re proofing some essential life skills around distractions! 💚

🐶 Disengagement – Choosing to move away from something exciting.

🐾 Recall – Coming back even when something else is more interesting.

🎾 Drop & Swap – Learning that giving something up doesn’t mean the fun ends!

✨ The secret? Make the exchange worthwhile!

By swapping for something of equal or higher value, rewarding their choices and often returning the toy or restarting play, we help reduce the worry of losing something valuable.

Over time, we’re building trust, confidence and reliable responses around increasingly tempting distractions.

💚 Play doesn’t have to end just because your dog lets go!

We’re not just teaching cues. We’re changing how our dogs feel about responding to them.

THIS is what a dog walk should be
about!

Today I spotted an owner doing something wonderful... simply PLAYING with their dog on a walk!

And the result? A beautitully calm, happy dog, having the BEST time with their favourite humans!

No constant commands. No pressure.
Just shared enjoyment, connection and a wonderful bond.

Play isn’t just fun, it can strengthen relationships, provide an outlet for natural behaviours and help dogs feel more connected to their owners.

Sometimes the most valuable part of a walk isn’t how far you go... it’s what you experience together.

Did you know one simple exercise can help build several essential puppy life skills? 🐶💚

This session we were working on “Finish” teaching the puppy to move into position beside their owner.

✨ Building foundations for loose-lead walking
✨ Encouraging four paws on the floor instead of jumping up
✨ Developing recall and a calm return
✨ Creating a positive association with having the lead attached
✨ Building focus, confidence and connection

Alongside giving puppies appropriate outlets for their natural, genetically influenced behaviours, we’re helping them develop skills for everyday life.

It’s about giving puppies the skills to make good choices! 💚
