🐾 Every Behaviour Serves a Purpose 🐾
When our dogs bark, lunge, pull, growl, jump up, or struggle in certain situations, it’s easy to focus on stopping the behaviour. But behaviour is communication.
Dogs don’t wake up in the morning deciding to be difficult. Every behaviour happens for a reason. It may be driven by fear, frustration, excitement, discomfort, confusion, a learned habit, or an unmet need.
Instead of asking:
❌ “How do I stop this behaviour?”
Try asking:
✅ “What is my dog trying to tell me?”
When we understand the emotion behind the behaviour, we can start creating lasting change.
We need to address the underlying cause.
Real progress comes from:
🐾 Understanding your dog’s emotional state
🐾 Meeting their physical and mental needs
🐾 Building confidence and trust
🐾 Creating positive experiences
The goal isn’t simply to stop behaviours we don’t like. The goal is to help our dogs feel safe, understood, and successful in the world around them.
When we see the message behind the behaviour and meet the need, that’s where meaningful change begins. ❤️
