National Animal Welfare Trust Cornwall National Animal Welfare Trust rescue centre in Hayle, Cornwall, rehoming approx 300 animals per year
(2)

The National Animal Welfare Trust's centre in Cornwall came about as a result of the inspiring work of Molly Wyatt. Molly worked hard over many years to provide a rescue and rehoming service in Cornwall, and shortly before her death in 1996 she asked if NAWT would be willing to carry on her work. We agreed to and in 1997, we took over financial and organisational responsibility for the work in Cor

nwall. We rehome around 300 cats and dogs at our Hayle centre every year. Every animal has been individually assessed and cared for by our experienced and dedicated staff. All animals are vet-checked, neutered, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped before being rehomed. We also have a local charity shop in Hayle and can accept donations for the shops directly at the centre.

๐ŸŽช THE SHOW MUST GO ON! ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ

The weather may have won this round, but our rescue animals still need us.

As many of you will know, the final day of the Royal Cornwall Show was cancelled due to severe weather warnings. Unfortunately, Saturday is traditionally our busiest trading day of the event, meaning we've lost out on vital fundraising income that helps us care for, rescue and rehome dogs and cats across Cornwall. To be honest, because of the rain on day 1 and 2, we really havent raised half of what we normally would. Having invested in stock etc that we would have normally sold and more, this is just devastating.

Our fantastic staff and volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the show, battling wind, rain and some very challenging conditions with smiles on their faces.
We were ready for one final busy day, but Mother Nature had other plans! We support the decision the show organisers had to make for all of our safety but of course like many other traders it is devastating nonetheless.

If you were planning to visit our stand on Saturday, couldn't make it this year, or if you'd simply like to support our work, we've set up a JustGiving page to help us recover some of the funds we would have raised and cover some of our costs.

Every pound donated will help us continue providing food, shelter, veterinary care and second chances to animals who need us most.

If you can help, thank you. If you can't donate right now, sharing this post would be hugely appreciated.

โค๏ธ๐Ÿพ Because while the show may have stopped, our rescue work never does.

This year Royal Cornwall Show was sadly cut short and day 3 cancelled due to high winds, heavy rain and weather warnings. Royal Cornwall Show is our biggest fundraising event of the year and has cost us thousands in funds we would have raised.

Firstly to Animal Vets for their support. We all know that the Royal Cornwall show was cut short but without AVS we wouldnโ€™t be able to have our amazing stand there at all.
And also to Sally and Stephen at Dinham Farm camping and caravan site in Wadebridge for looking after us. Our stays there are always a pleasure!

Someone found his adoption profile packed and ready to take to Royal Cornwall Show! Last year we took an enquiry from a lovely couple about Paddy and they are now his happy adoptive family! Can we make it 2 years in a row and find a home for Archie this year? ๐Ÿคž
