❤️ ROY ❤️
Roy is not a banned breed, however, he was accused of biting and injuring a delivery person who entered his garden. This was completely out of character for Roy who is usually friendly to everyone.
His owner is an older lady who was distraught at the thought of possibly losing Roy as a result of this incident. Fortunately Roy was left at home by the police so didn't have to endure the trauma of being seized.
Roy's owner listened to every bit of advice she was given, at each stage she put things into practice. She firstly arranged her property so that deliveries could be made without anyone entering the garden.
Secure fencing and gates were erected. Four Legs Law - part of Ison Harrison Solicitors were instructed to represent Roy's case in court, also Dr. Helen Howell Dog Behaviour Expert was employed to visit Roy at his home, give further advice and produce a report for court.
Roy's owner also got character references from neighbours, Roy is well loved in the community.
Today was their day in court, barrister Mia Monahan attended to defend the case, she successfully argued that chunks of the victims statement was irrelevant and shouldn't be included as evidence.
Roy was spared, he must be walked on a lead, no muzzle is required, his owner was given a small fine and a suspended sentence, the judge smiled when instructing Roy's Mum to make sure she is good during the suspended sentence period.
This ordeal has been awful for Roy's Mum who was terrified of either losing Roy, or going to prison, made all the more worrying as she is the sole carer of her disabled daughter.
Roy's little family are very grateful for all the help they received from the experts in the legal team and of course Helen Howell
